1: 2 T butter 2: 2 c raw brown rice 3: 4 1/2 c stock 1 bay leaf 4: 1/2 c fresh parsley 2/3 c grated Parmesan 1: melt. Stir in rice to coat. Add 3 & boil 5 min., then steam 45 min. Remove from flame and let sit 10 min. Stir in cheese and parsley.

Rodale's Pones 3 c white 'floury' cornmeal Add: 1/3 c sesame seeds some caraway seeds 1/2 t salt Add: 'several cups' boiling water + 1/4-1/3 c oil Mix to a consistency 'about like a wet bricklayer's mortar.' Cool 1 hour. Bake 50 min.

To make nut butter: chop a certain amount of salted nuts--peanut, almond, cashew, etc. Process, adding 1 T oil per 1/4 c of nut meal.
