OUR HISTORY

I’m sure that many of our loyal customers have heard this story several times over the years, but it still bears repeating. Masters Choice is a company rich in history, having served our nations farm families for more than 40 years. John Rucker, our first independent owner, was a world class plant breeder and established the genetic base that still thrives in our company to this day.

As a dairy nutrition consultant, Lyn Crabtree noticed something different about the way that these hybrids fed to dairy cows. Learning to balance a ration in a new way, he realized that, despite the general consensus of the industry at that time, not all corn was alike. Lyn built a relationship with John Rucker and eventually the Crabtree family bought the business in 2005.

We’ve spent the last 15 years honing in on exactly what makes our product different from the industry and have dedicated ourselves to continually improving our hybrids and the way that they feed to livestock. We’re a different kind of corn company for sure, but if you’re a livestock producer it’s a very good kind of different.
