Our mission is to design resilient, reusable, repairable, and recyclable pieces, reducing the resources needed to replace dated and worndown products. We ensure the longevity of our furniture through quality craftsmanship, solid materials, and timeless design.

HONEST MATERIALS
We use solid materials sourced sustainably, domestically, and locally whenever possible. We also use non-toxic materials and finishes for better indoor air quality, designing products that can contribute to LEED, WELL, and HHI certifications. Our commitment to ethical materials includes sourcing Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified timber, which ensures that wood - a renewable and ecofriendly material - is harvested from well-managed forests.
ON-DEMAND PRODUCTION
Our sustainability commitment extends beyond just materials. Tailored design means custom fabrication, reducing the environmental footprint. By only creating the products specifically needed for each project, we ensure the efficient use of resources. We promote a more sustainable future by only building products that we know will be used.
CIRCULAR PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE
Our sustainability journey continues throughout our furniture’s entire life cycle. Embracing a circular approach, we implemented a buyback program to give new life to wood and cast iron, transforming them into raw materials for new furniture. Our use of recycled materials conserves natural resources and reduces the carbon footprint of manufacturing.
DOMESTIC FABRICATION
We design and fabricate nearly all of our products in Southern California. We lessen our carbon footprint by reducing shipping distances while supporting domestic manufacturers and distributors.
CONSCIOUS MATERIALS
While we specify a wide range of options, we prefer materials for their circular content, resilience, and durability. We use healthier finishes that promote safer workplaces by minimizing exposure to harmful chemicals.

BUTCHER BLOCK
Butcher block is a staple material at MASHstudios because it harnesses the elegance and longevity of solid wood while minimizing material waste. The final product is a surface that boasts exceptional resistance to impact damage and surpasses the longevity of a composite core.
SHEET STEEL
Sheet steel is prized for its sustainability, being both durable and endlessly recyclable. It’s produced by melting iron and recycled steel, forming it into sheets for a wide range of applications. Our efficient manufacturing processes also minimize waste by optimizing material yield for custom components.
FORBO
Forbo is made with natural ingredients like linseed oil and wood flour, which ensures durability and recyclability while being low VOC. Its production process has low energy requirements, reducing its carbon footprint, while its innate strength significantly extends longevity, reducing the need for premature replacements.
CAST IRON
Cast iron furniture is highly durable and infinitely recyclable. It’s made by melting a blend of iron and recycled steel in a furnace, casting it into molds for custom designs and rapid production of affordable, eco-friendly goods.
PET FABRIC PANELS
PET fabric panels are made from recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate, the material found in the 50,000,000,000 water bottles used by Americans each year. PET is tackable, has acoustic properties, and comes in a wide variety of colors.
LOW-VOC FINISHES
Employing finishes that emit minimal volatile organic compounds (VOC), like Conversion
Varnish and Clear Satin Waterborne, ensures healthier workplaces by reducing exposure to harmful chemicals. This eco-friendly approach aligns with sustainable principles, contributing to a greener office environment and promoting the well-being of both occupants and the planet.

CUSTOM DESIGN
With award-winning experience creating bespoke office furniture, MASHstudios expertise and manufacturing capabilities unlocks new possibilities in workspace design. With an almost obsessive attention to detail, we design branded furniture that turns offices into destinations.
GOOP
After years of growing their brand and product offerings, goop decided it was time to establish their home in Los Angeles. Working closely with Rapt Studio, we pulled inspiration from seashell tones, curvilinear, loopy shapes, and the Santa Monica city scape, and worked the design theme into every detail. Starting with a soft, airy color palette, we designed custom workstations, sofas, and conference tables to create unbounded spaces.

We developed a system of loop leg workstations, both height adjustable and fixed, made with white ash, wood grain texture laminate, and powder coated steel. In order to give the keep the open and welcoming, there are no privacy panels or space division obstruct the view.

BEHRENS
The design of Behren’s furniture design embodies a harmonious blend of clean, modern aesthetics and organic elements, reflecting their commitment to a sleek yet natural workspace. With a focus on transparency and authenticity in materials, storage solutions were intelligently tailored to meet distinct needs across various offices. While some offices needed storage of architectural drawings and discrete storage, other needed open shelving for display. The companies’ unique collection of fossils and petrified wood as seamlessly integrated into the design, allowing their prized possessions to shine as unique art pieces. This design approach aligns with the architectural nuances, addressing private offices’ unique columns, windows, and I-beams with thoughtful elegance.

GOODRX
MASH partnered with RIOS on the interior office design of GoodRX’s new 76,000 sq ft headquarters. Supporting their rapid growth from start-up to tech into a healthcare giant, GoodRX wanted their headquarters to tell a story of health and wellness, with an experience reminiscent of a walk through the park.

We used a warm palette of materials for GoodRX’s Santa Monica headquarters, such as eggplant colored forbo, cork, walnut, and tambour base detailing to support the eclectic direction of the brand architecture. We brought design intention to every detail, whether it was for private office furniture, meeting table, or open office workstations.

OXO INTERNATIONAL
MASH supported the interior design of OXO International’s 60,000 sf headquarters through a series of custom workstations, storage elements, meeting pods, and private offices. Developed with the employees’ needs at the forefront, we sought to create a durable solution that enhanced the day-to-day office experience so that they could live and work by their mantra “better everyday.”

Mimicking neighboring NYC water towers, which are visible from the lobby, MASHstudios developed mobile meeting pods as a centerpiece for OXO’s entry area.
OXO needed an office that embodied honest materials and functional design. We designed custom height adjustable workstations, center consoles, storage elements, conference tables, storage benches with integrated divider screens, meeting pods, and private offices that match their brand.

CONFIDENTIAL LAW OFFICE
A private Law Firm in Los Angeles needed custom furniture that reflected their professionalism and competence, with design flexibility that would let them adapt the office layout as their needs evolve. Balancing functionality and aesthetics, MASHstudios developed custom sit-stand desks that offer both comfort and style. Every design detail was carefully considered, ensuring the sit-stand desk would look composed at every position. Solid oak desktops, discreetly concealed mechanical components, and leather inserts enhance the desk’s visual appeal and durability.

HOUSEAMERICA
HouseAmerica Financial, a mortgage banking company, approached MASH with the specific intention to bring a tailored, homey feel into their new space to ease the otherwise intimidating process of purchasing a home. The welcoming offices of mortgage advisors were designed to host small meetings, with rounded edge white desks and large returns to make space feel generous.

Elegantly integrated within the office’s central hub, sit-to-stand workstations seamlessly blend white oak veneer and thoughtfully designed storage solutions. Softening the workspace, fabric walls in warm greys define the workstation areas. These walls feature gently curving, built-in lighting, which imparts a subtle radiance to the hallways, creating delightful interplays of light throughout the entire space. Complementing this aesthetic, ancillary furnishings such as sofas, café tables, and booth seating were meticulously crafted with smooth, curved contours, harmoniously coexisting with the linear architecture of the space.

THE BROAD FOUNDATION AND FAMILY OFFICES
When The Broad Foundation and Family Offices relocated their headquarters to 1 Cal Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles, one block away from The Broad Museum, they wanted to design office spaces that reflected their work and values. They aimed to create an inviting and equitable space for their employees, visitors, and guests in the heart of the city.

To realize their vision of a welcoming headquarters, the design team turned to MASHstudios to create custom workstations, private office furniture, and conference tables to promote a collaborative and inspiring work environment. Transparent private offices are at the center of the project, with open workspaces along the windowed perimeter, creating a bright and egalitarian office filled with natural light and stunning views of the Los Angeles skyline.
