MPR Park Board Maryville Parks and Recreation is quasi-independent with nine volunteer board members, eleven full time employees, and multiple part-time and seasonal staff that strive to provide experiences through Parks and Recreation that enrich our communities. Parks There are 10 public parks throughout Maryville with a near total of 100 acres. The parks contain playground equipment, shelter houses, sand volleyball, tennis courts, skate parks, and athletic fields for baseball, softball, soccer and football.

Sports Maryville Parks and Recreation organizes over 1,000 kids between the ages of 5-16 in the Nodaway County area. Sports that teach the basic fundamentals of teamwork and sportsmanship. Being a sponsor with our youth sports leagues, help to keep the registration fees affordable, purchase uniforms, update our facilities to play on and provides new and safe equipment.

Programs Maryville Parks and Recreation strives to progress the well being of our community by implementing ongoing programs that fight childhood and adult obesity. Being a sponsor of these programs will not only benefit the community as a whole but your employees, customers, and neighbors. Kids Mileage Club

Kids Mileage Club is a 6 week program that provides a chance for children, Pre-K to 8th grade to earn prizes while getting fit. Kids will get 30 minutes a day MondayFriday to walk as many miles as they can. Tokens and drawings will be awarded for kids who meet milestone marks.
The New Year’s Challenge is a 8 week competition designed to encourage participants as they work towards health and fitness goals. We will offer a variety of opportunities for nutrition, motivation, fitness, and health. Participants register as a team of three.

MAC Mini Tri
Saturday Morning, August 3rd, 2019 Hosting our 13th Annual Mini Triathlon which consists of a 400 meter swim, 10k bike, and 5k run brings visitors from all over and helps keep our community active. Gold: $250 – Sponsor logo printed on back of volunteer & participant shirts, Two free entries. Silver: $150 – Name printed on back of volunteer & participant shirts, one free entry. Flag Day Celebration & Bike Parade
Friday evening, June 14th, 2019 Celebrate Flag Day with us at Franklin Park location of the Freedom Rock Plaza. Girl Scouts will be there giving out cookies and Hot Chocolate while anxious little ones wait for the chance to see Santa! Lights at the park will be lit every night through Christmas.
