To better understand creative typography, the design brief was to create a fall themed illustration made applicable for a coffee mug. The short word “Fall” is displayed with organic florals in two different color ways.

A homeage to Lebanon’s precious Zhourat tea created through a surface pattern design and made applicable on graphic tee shirt designs. Icons were individually inked on watercolor paper and digitally rendered for a finished graphic appeal.

Based on a personal chilhood memory of going to the lebanese bakery from the prompt, “think about a place from your childhood that has a distinctive smell. Describe that place, and the smell, in as much detail as you can”.

Children’s Book Cover Illustration based on the novel by Roald Dahl and Wes Anderson’s stop-motion animation film “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. A whimsical and compositionally balanced spread with the use of surface design patterns. A limited color scheme and fun shapes were strongly used for this piece.

Children’s Book Cover Illustration based on Wes Anderson’s stop-motion animation film “Isle of Dogs”. An intricate composition and patterns were used to illustrate themes of friendship and justice to a younger audience.

Produced sketches for trunk and lifestyle product collections to be manufactured in Asnières-sur-Seine, France. Was also able to personalize and travel to hand-paint hardsided trunks for clients in the Midwest Mid-Atlantic Region.

About the Artist
Maryiam Bazzi is an Illustrator, Surface Designer & In-House Artisan at Louis Vuitton based in Detroit, MI.
As a creator her work has been influenced by creative storytelling narratives, childhood experiences, film and novels expressed through organic florals, symbolic motifs and limited color palettes. As an illustrator it is her goal to create light-hearted and adventurous illustrative pictures and patterns.
Her work has been published and displayed in magazines, art exhibitions, and have served as promotional artworks for clients including Louis Vuitton, Saks Fifth Avenue, You Matter by Demetrius Harmon, Blick Art Materials, and Prairie Margins Literary Magazine. She has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI.
In her free time she enjoys reading, watching scary movies, writing poetry and baking sweets.
