Mary Agria

After retiring from a successful career as a technical writer and researcher in the field of community development, Ms. Agria turned to fiction to express the “greater truths” that only a good story can tell. Her syndicated column on work force ethics ran for 22 years; excerpts were published as a book by Wm. C. Brown. The Rural Congregational Handbook (Abingdon Press) she co-authored has been used by seminaries around the country for ten years. Her novels include the 2006 best-seller, TIME IN A GARDEN; VOX HUMANA: The Human Voice; IN TRANSIT, COMMUNITY OF SCHOLARS (awarded 5 stars by Midwest Book Review as “highly recommended”) and GARDEN OF EVE, second in her Life in the Garden series. Her characters are older Americans and their families, struggling to make their peace with their changing lives and the changing face of rural communities. Wife of a university president Emeritus, she is mother of four daughters and six grandchildren.
