Central Pennsylvania’s first reality TV show, Emmy nominated Dream Weddings, is airing its fourth season of spectacular weddings. What began as a dream for host Martine Cajas more than five years ago has turned into a source of dreams for brides all over Central Pennsylvania. This season, we will give away our second Dream Wedding!
Viewers will welcome the return of some favorite elements in the show: behind the scenes production meetings, design upgrades and of course… bloopers. Martine is getting so comfortable on camera that the production team sometimes fear that he’s going to become a one-take wonder…. then his Spanglish takes over and the whole production team is cracking up! Dream Weddings continues to evolve and will unveil some new surprises this season…but you’ll have to tune in to see for yourself! Check WGAL’s listings for exact times and dates. Spring! This year couldn’t arrive fast enough! It’s only appropriate that this time of renewal signals the start of wedding season. Theme of renewal was the inspiration for this issue’s bridal feature; Butterflies. Birds. Flowers. They all reemerge to make the world feel shiny and new. I like to think that a bride undergoes her own personal metamorphosis as she plans her wedding. Some brides are confident in knowing just what they want, while others need various degrees of guidance. Luckily, South Central Pennsylvania is home to many talented, creative and knowledgeable bridal professionals who can help you create your own dream wedding. After months – maybe even years – of planning and dreaming, the final transformation takes place on the day of the wedding, when the bride,
wrapped in a cocoon that is her veil, finally reveals what her friends and family have been waiting to see – her beautiful gown. As you will see, our bride wears fashions from Lazaro, a designer who has legions of fans the world over. Lucky for us, Lazaro is available at Cocoa Couture in Hershey. Hershey Gardens provided the perfect backdrop for our feature. If you haven’t strolled the gardens or visited the Butterfly House, make a date to visit. Spring is also synonymous with color and this year’s palette is anchored by Pantone’s color of the year, Radiant Orchid. Pair it with everything from the palest of pinks to the boldest of golds to create your own color story for your wedding. As you will see, touches of a favorite color can go a long way. Receptions have undergone their own metamorphosis of sorts. The era of long, drawn-out, sit-down dinners is passé. Fluidity rules! While the ceremony continues to be rooted in traditionalism, the reception rocks! Newlyweds are treating their guests to extravaganzas that include cocktail parties, themed dinners, game rooms, lounges and dynamic dance floors. It’s the neverending party! Although she was starting her freshman year of college at Lebanon Valley and he was leaving for his sophomore year at Mansfield, they both knew they had found something special. Dinner and a movie (The Departed). Dan asked her to marry him while they were in Pittsburgh to see a Penguins game. After lunch at the Jerome Bettis Grille they took a walk around Heinz Field. Mid-way through the walk, Dan got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Vintage Rustic.

They met through a mutual friend who works with Greg. Introduced in 2005, they dated for two years, took a two-year break and were reunited in 2009. Their mutual friend hooked them up both times and they say they owe her big time! First “first date” was Your Place Restaurant in Hershey; second “first date” was What If Restaurant, also in Hershey. It was Christmas of 2011. They had opened all their gifts and were sitting on the living-room floor helping their dogs open gifts. Greg asked Lindsay if she would like one more gift and pulled the ring out of his pocket. Historical elegance with a touch of bling. Silver, Allcoral and white. white bouquets with a small pop of coral for the ceremony aisle. Flowers included roses, dahlias, hydrangeas, calla lilies. Two-tier round cake – one layer had a scroll design, the other was a dot design. Decorated with fresh flowers from the florist. Cake flavor was white/raspberry swirl with cream-cheese icing.
