Kuortane, February 3° 1898 - Helsinki, May 11° 1976 - The most important Finnish architect of the 20th century - Undisputed leader of European Organic Architecture - Travelled throughout Europe, acquiring extensive knowledge of contemporary trends in the architectural and artistic fields, - Graduateted in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Helsinki in 1921 - Two years late he opened his first professional studio

Viipuri Library - He received positive critics by international critics when he designed and constructed the famous library in Viipuri - collaborated with his newly-wd Aino Marsio - furnished with stackable stools and “Ibrida” chairs
