Ho 23 anni e frequento il secondo anno di laurea Magistrale. Dedico gran parte del mio tempo libero al softball, sport che pratico da 16 anni e che mi ha portata a giocare a livello professionale in competizioni nazionali e internazionali.

Il percorso in triennale mi ha permesso di sperimentare ulteriormente l’importanza della capacità di collaborazione, di ascolto e di comunicazione all’interno di un team.

Crescere all’interno del Bollate Softball MKF e della Nazionale Italiana sin dalle giovanili mi ha aiutata invece a comprendere l’importanza della gestione del tempo dovendo conciliare studio e sport, l’importanza della collaborazione e del lavoro di squadra per raggiungere obiettivi comuni.

The project rediscovers an abandoned landscape. Tevere is a huge resource that is not lived and exploited as it should.

The project uses water bodies as a slow mobility connection, as it was past. It believes that Tevere is not a partition of the lands but it is the main connection that can keep nature and human in a suistainable balance.

BUFFER ZONES

Along the river we recognised a matrix of situation to which we adapted different approaches. In the agricultural land we leave space for an high buffer, to increase shadow along the river. In the urban land we add algaes to restore oxigen. In the protected areas we add intervetion according to the rules of the natural parks to improve banks relation.

FLOODING

Current facilities of agricultural fields are placed near the water body. This situation is a problem, since esondation is a common event along Tevere: - pesticides of the soil pollute the water - floods ruin agricultural field and human activities - water brings to day light abandoned waste

RECONNECTING

The Tevere is an apportunity of slow mobility, integrated also with ground transport. This connection is able to start a development of sustainable mobility on the water body, using with a low environ-

ATTRACTION AND ACTIVITIES

Recreational facilities along the Tevere are fairly spread across the cities, but limited along the

Tiberoad prevents all of it.

In both Lazio and Umbria there are many species at risk of erosion. Cleaning the water, making the banks livable and having the Tevere as a continuous connection are taken action to protect biodiversity in the environment around. Another main action is the implementation of a biodiversity module with trees (in general endangered flora).

CIRCULARITY

All the project addition are made by recycled materials. In the production chain are used: - the waste that is caught in the nets for new urban

- the wood cut from old trees is reused for the design element and the trees are replaced with new ones that are more efficient in oxygen production.

As a conclusion of the previous analysis Tiberoad proposes innovative solutions, set at three different scales: - Regional scale, involving the whole territory. - Tevere scale, following the water body coast to coast. - Banks scale, higlighting the features of local interventions.

Un progetto di nuova costruzione a sud di Milano nel cuore del quartiere del Vigentino. L’area di progetto è inserita su una strada poco trafficata appena fuori via Ripamonti, lungo collegamento dal centro di Milano alle città a sud.

Il quartiere è ben attrezzato, sono presenti parchi e varie attività commerciali lungo la strada principale. La comunità è composta principalmente da persone anziane e famiglie molto giovani che stanno ricominciando a vivere l’area.

ENERGY/LIGHTING STRATEGY

SOLATUBES

The solatubes are placed on the south facing facade, to leave free the main facade that face north.

Rainwater is collected and redistributed for irrigation of the flower beds of the square below the building.

We decided to keep the most of the exhisting division of the building. Some separation walls will be demolished.

BUILDING FROM WASTE AND THE NEW INDUSTRY

A new industry is gonna take place in MIVAR area and it’s gonna be an active on and will appear some issues:

- from the tranport as noise, pollution and - from the production the WASTE

In the multiporpused area the project will add a solution related to this topic, the reuse of industrial waste, proposing different activities, workshop, and actual initiative to reude these materials.

Also, the idea for the new center is to be built with reused materials and components.

For example add an extra insulation between the activity area and the caretaker’s apartment made by MOGU, their products are designed, engineered and bio-fabricated by employing selected mycelium strains .

This could became a new pole for two topic stricly related to the industry:

- INDUSTRIAL WASTE AND RECYCLE OF THE MATERIALS

- WELL-BEING OF WORKERS IN INDUSTRIAL SITE AND SAFETY ON WORK.

ADDITION

The additional building to the old complex is the element that close the area. An independent bar, with kitchen that close the central ‘street’ and create a new space to socialize. The court welcome the visitor and put in relation multifunctional area with the reception and the museum.

It’s a simple structure in platform frame that follows the height of the old building.

LIGHTING SOLUTIONS

The aim is to reduce the energy losses during cold weather and improve the ventilation system during warm weather

The lighting concept follows the functional division.

We can see how working activities are displaced in the correct orentation for natural dayliht.

Also in musum exhibition area, where we do not have natural lighting we introduced entertainment and active expericìence areas.

ENERGY SOLUTIONS

The aim is to reduce the energy losses during cold weather and improve the ventilation system during warm weather.

Thanks to the orentation of the buidling we are able to use efficiently the wind to ventilate the building. We added a cantiliver to shadow south facade first floor.

Kichijoji is a city within a city, meaning that it not only has a huge surface, but within the neighborhood you will find almost everything you need. The neighbourhood has a central layout, like a small city and heading to the borders has a scenic blend of the conveniences of modern life and more relaxed residential character. A sense of community is a base of Japanese culture, which has been described as a society of groups rather than individuals. As a result, the word “community” has always had a meaning that goes well beyond what is commonly understood in the West. The neighbourhood in Japanese communities often resemble villages both physically and metaphorically.

LIGHT AND TEMPERATURE REGOLATION

Thermal comfort, indoor efficiency, visual comfort, noise, and ergonomic spaces are examples of elements that come together to complement one another in the domestic sphere. In the project we focused to improve the spaces with: - great insulation - right glazing, shadow and lighting - great ventilation.

VISUAL

People are strongly affected by building facades as Olin Ellard state. Some people feel the need to hurry out of some areas, while when they reach a street with store or interesting facades, they feel more engaged about the space.

DIRECTION

Enriching public spaces could help by making residents feel more engaged and comfortable with their surroundings.  Kate Jeffery, made the point to feel connected to a place you need to know how things relate to each other spatially. In other words, you need a sense of direction. Making people feel they have some control over their environment.

CIRCULATION

A person who does not feel comfortable will be thinking about the cause of their discomfort instead of thinking about their work. Adequate circulation space stimulates movement, space to talk, space to concentrate, order, good storage solutions.

Comfort in the Architecture is affected by a great number of different factors

NATURE

The visual complexity of natural environment acts affects our mind well-being. Some virtual reality studies found that the residential streets with the most architectural variation are the most mentally engaging.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS

Are technological advancements making a difference in achieving comfort through design?

How the improvement of a condition of a space can affect mental comfort and health?

We found the architectural strategies that can help improve our comfort and applied them to the needs of the neighborhood of Kichijoji at the different scale: Interior, public interior, public open space

FUSION REALM

STRUCTURE AND PATTERN OF THE SPACE IN KICHIJOJI

A sense of community is a base of Japanese culture, which has been described as a society of groups rather than individuals. As a result, the word “community” has always had a meaning that goes well beyond what is commonly understood in the West. The neighbourhood in Japanese communities often resemble villages both physically and metaphorically.

To appreciate the importance of this distinction, keep in mind that one of the most significant differences between Western and Japanese cities is the definition of ‘line’ versus ‘area.’ Western cities, in general, are oriented on linear streets, avenues, or boulevards, while Japanese cities are made up of areas, as the machi (DISTRICT) and chome (UNIT) definitions demonstrate.

Furthermore, in Japan, public open space is regarded as a luxury rather than a requirement. In Tokyo, disaster prevention is the primary (and sometimes sole) justification for providing public open space in the event of fires and the long-awaited Tokai earthquake. To meet demand, there is a requirement to have a certain amount of public open space per city. These needs in Kichijoji, but also in other districts, are often met by sad “children parks” consisting of a simple collection of play equipment and a storage shed for emergency supplies.

OPPORTUNITIES

Throughout the neighbourhood we see different types of public spaces. On the north we see most of the public spaces related to educational facilities, while on the south we see the biggest public spa ce of the neighbourhood. All the rest is a mix between empty lots often used as parking or empty green spaces serving as community gardens.

Our project aims to the renovation of the neighborhood in terms of creating a better livable place for citizens.

Urban architecture starts with macro-level zonal development and progresses to street-level amenity design. Our goal is to build the city space alongside the natural ecosystems that already exist in the neighborhood.

We worked on the road configuration and the transition from highways to the neighborhood streetscapes. Public spaces must be universally accessible to foster a good mobility for a good city. People should get from one place to another easily for a better lifestyle and social atmosphere.

When the scale of planning funnels down to a minute-level, urban design panders to shaping the streetscapes and landscapes in a neighborhood. Our goal is to design micro-planning renovation such as side-walks design, road divider design, use of solar energy for lighting the streets in the night, transport pick-up points, traffic segregation, bicycle paths, vegetation, shrubbery and so on.

Another relevant aspect linked to our neighborhood is the fact that vehicles dominate the streets, and this phenomenon needs to be solved to give back streets to pedestrians and bike riders. Our project will reshape the in-between spaces, also well-known as margins, in order to create a pedestrian friendly neighborhood with locate services, walking distances, but also with the use of smart poles used as charging points for electric tools, SOS feature, Wi-Fi areas and surveillance.

Our building is located in TOKYO. In the KICHIJOJIHONCHO CHOME in the neighborhood KICHIJOJI. It’s a residential area and has every service in the surroundings.

The main facade face south west so a fist design approach is to add translucent paper inside the window as shading.

The two windows need shutters to make the place more comfortable.

Configuration open. The table turns 90 degrees. It’s a four people table and the bench of the relax area is used as sitting.

Night and bed area.

Under the bed we designed a storage accessible from the top and with the two drawers. The area beside the entrance has the space to put the shoes.

This space can change a lot and adapt above the bed-box. In Japan they sleep on TATAMI, a light mat floor that can be moved anytime. The space can welcome different activities, during the day can be used as a training area.

The box, the desk and the bench of the relax area are all finished with the wooden plate that folds and adapts in order to create the unique surface.

We can see the interior of the design and the location of the shelves.

The upper level of the indoor structure is thought as a continuos ring that connect the four walls.

This around structure interact with the interior space but leaves it as free as possible.

Il terreno su cui si adagia il progetto è in lieve pendenza verso la strada, l’edificio si inserisce nel terreno come se fosse una parete rocciosa, semplice e ben compresa nel contesto.

il progettto è realizzato su due piani a base quadrata con una grande corte interna, collegati da una rampa che indirizza il visitatore nel percorso del centro.

Fascia climatica:Mediterraneo interno.

Il clima a Gagliano Aterno è caldo e temperato con una piovosità significativa. Inverno mite ed estate calda e secca.

Temperatura: varia tra 1.3°C e 21.3°C. la temperatura media annuale è 10.8°C.

Altitudine: 650 m

La corte centrale e il passaggio sotto il corpo forntale dell’edificio creano uno spazio protetto. Gli spazi ombreggiati e coperti dal sole e dal vento, aumentano la superficie utilizzabile dell’edificio durante i momenti freschi.

L’edificio è concepito per accompagnare nel percorso il visitatore, per questo la scelta compositiva è stata quella di chiudere gli affacci verso l’esterno e aprire completamente con lunghe vetrate la corte interna. Utile anche dal punto di vista bioclimatico aprendo completamente la facciata a sud (con i dovuti ombreggiamenti).

Nel progetto dell’azienda agricola sono stati applicati diversi metodi per un’architettura più ‘green’. Gli scoli dell’acqua piovana sul tetto sono studiati in modo da raccoglierla internamente verso la grondaia che scarica in un serbatoio. Questa viene poi riutilizzata per innaffiare l’orto e il frutteto urbano.

Oltre allo spazio in paese, il progetto comprende un ripristino di aree agricole circostanti a supporto della produzione interna.

Il progetto si basa sulla definizione di sei fasi progettuali definite dalla modellazione dei volumi architettonici con lo scopo di creare un unico volume dinamico e asim-

Un edificio “a ponte” che permette la fruizione pubblica all’interno di tutta la piazza e che possiede due caratteri differenti; una facciata dinamica sul fronte pubblico e una facciata privata e raccolta sul fronte che affaccia sulla corte interna dell’edificio.

Fascia climatica: Subtropicale umido.

Il clima a MIlano è caldo e temperato, ma con un’alta piovosità. L’inverno è mite e umido in tutte le stagioni.

Temperatura: varia tra 2.3°C e 24°C. la temperatura media annuale è 14°C.

Due grandi porte scorrevoli permettono di sfruttare al meglio la ventilazione naturale sia d’estate che d’inverno.

La doppia altezza posta nel corridoio permette una buona circolazione all’interno dello spazio. L’aria ha la possibilità di muoversi tra i piani senza trovare ostacoli.

I sistemi di schermature sul ballatoio creano un’atmosfera particolare grazie al gioco di luci e di ombre e luoghi in cui le persone che vi abitano possano avere occasione di parlare, conoscersi e rilassarsi.

La struttura ricettiva inserita nell’edificio storico vuole differenziarsi dai servizi già esistenti nella zona. Un albergo esclusivo, comprensivo di ristorante e SPA e un’esperienza unica nelle camere da letto tematiche. L’addizione di un volume a sud mette in relazione l’edificio con il paesaggio circostante: il corridoio abitabile con le nicchie, permettono la sosta e indirizzano lo sguardo verso precise cornici di paesaggio.

Fascia climatica: Umido continentale. Gli inverni sono rigidi ed è umido in tutte le stagioni con una breve estate calda.

Temperatura: varia tra 1.3°C e 21.3°C. la temperatura media annuale è 10.8°C.

L’edificio storico viene consolidato, trattato e impermeabilizzato internamente con particolare attenzione al piano interrato dedicato alla spa.

Gli ampliamenti sono realizzati in legno. Le scatole inserite nel corpo a sud sono prefabbricate e composte da pannelli di legno lamellare, x-lam e pannelli sandwich leggeri. Le scatole aprono completamente a sud la casa cantoniera, così da sfruttare al meglio la luce solare. CONCEPT

1. E’ stato utilizzato il comando SWEEP2 utilizzando come sezione la curva di sezione dell’imbottitura del cuscino, e come binari i profili dello schienale;

1. Sono state create varie sezioni poste a distanza diversa l’una dall’altro, raccordate tramite il comando LOFT;

Cuciture:

1. E’ stato utilizzato lo strumento SubD MULTIPIPE partendo da una linea in corrispondenza dei bordi del divano.

We can see the different calamities present in the two historical moments, in the 20th century, many activities made the Village active and independent. At the end of 1900 the ex industrial areas VULCANO where requalified with a commercial center.

We can see the difference which occured in the importance and use of areas in Falck, especially when the industrial areas were requalified. Notable is the increase of importance of Vulcano, a commercial centre in the place of Vulcano plant.

Falck Village has it’s own dimension, detatched from the fast road and other calamities

Industrial area it’s a wide space that extend and increase. It flattens all the noises and urban events.

Town and urban center still dynamic and chaotic, restuarants and other activities face this road.
