This impudent and optimistic painting depicts a naughty-looking naked man equipped with a vast and incandescent penis. It’s so big it divides his body and rises like a Roman candle under the tutelary hand of his equally naked female companion. She waves her fingers over his erection, the man waves his right hand (at her? at us?) and the approving sun waves at all. It’s a marvellous, light-hearted celebration of sexuality with an unexpected kind of innocence.
