THE ORIGINS OF PRANIC HEALING ‘Prana’ is a Sanskrit word that means ‘life energy’. Pranic Healing centres around the principle that everything has its own energy, or life force, and these energies are constantly flowing in all that exists in the universe.

The various methods and techniques of Pranic Healing were conceptualised by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, who introduced the no-touch energy-based therapy in his book The Ancient Science and Art of Pranic Healing which was released in 1987. His concepts, experiments and methodologies form the basis of Pranic Healing techniques that are practiced all over the world today.

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui became interested in the lives of spiritual beings from an early age; preferring to spend his time reading rather than playing with toys, his mother recognising early on that he was unlike other children. As a boy, he read and studied numerous books on healing, this inquisitive disposition and unquenchable thirst for knowledge continuing throughout his life.

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui was a spiritual teacher, author, healer, scientist, businessman and philanthropist. With more than 30 years of research and experimentation on the use of subtle energy, he was a Master of Energies.

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui served as President of the World Pranic Healing Foundation and the Institute for Inner Studies, Inc. He is also the founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga.
