The extension programmes provided by the College ensure the most able students achieve outstanding results and maximise their chances of progressing to the most competitive entry courses.
As part of HE+, Cambridge admissions tutors come to the College to deliver sessions for parents; sessions on personal statements and a session on interviews for universities. These are open to ALL Reach students.
We offer 5 masterclasses and a project, designed to help students consider what subject they might want to study at a higher level.
If students have musical or sporting commitments, and are therefore not available on Wednesday afternoons, they can still participate on Reach. Not doing HE+ in no way disadvantages students. You have to sign up for HE+, as it is in addition to Reach classes.
»
The masterclasses sessions are on 5 Wednesday afternoons, running from November to March.
»
The sessions are designed to give students a ‘taste of university lectures’ and give them ideas beyond the curriculum.
»
Students then complete a project based upon their interest.
»
The project could then be the basis of the EPQ in the second year.
