It’s a very exciting time for women’s football on campus. This season marks the launch of the Loughborough Lightning Women’s Football Programme. A result of a merge with Loughborough Foxes will see Loughborough Lightning compete in the FA women’s national league. We are currently four weeks into pre-season, the group are prepping well for the start of the season which begins on Sunday 15th August vs Hull. A strong 1-0 win vs Stoke City this week along with 3 more preseason fixtures to come should put us in a very good position to start the season well and look to pick up three points.
