Headmaster’s welcome

Welcome to Hymers College. Set in our beautiful grounds in Hull, Hymers has a proud history of delivering exceptional teaching, offering first-rate facilities and supporting all pupils to achieve their potential. For over 125 years we have nurtured all our pupils, from the Junior School right through to Sixth Form, to ensure they receive an outstanding education within an environment that is both warm and supportive and also challenging and stimulating. This has been particularly evident throughout the pandemic. I am incredibly proud of the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received from parents and students on our successful delivery of lockdown learning. From day one we were able to deliver a full timetable of online learning with live teaching to all our pupils. Here at Hymers, for our pupils, this academic year is not about catching up, it is about moving forward. At Hymers we continue to give young people the very best start in life and set the standard for education in the north of England. I look forward to welcoming you to the Hymers family.

We set your child up for life

From a youngster in the Junior School through to our Sixth Form, we create an environment where young people can grow, explore, discover and flourish. We inspire a sense of belonging and ignite a passion to learn. Our characteristically high standards and expectations create a culture where young people are empowered to excel. This is demonstrated by our consistent outstanding results across all academic disciplines and high uptake of the wide variety of co-curricular activities we offer.

Our inclusive culture is one where it is respected to succeed, whatever the endeavour. Mistakes are not viewed as failures, but as learning opportunities. We support pupils to fulfil their aspirations within the curriculum and through co-curricular activities, developing well-rounded, grounded young adults who contribute positively to society.
