Offering the space to grow

Across our two campuses, Hymers is able to offer our young children and pupils incredible outdoor space to explore, play, discover and grow outside of the classroom.

At the front of Hymers Hessle Mount there is a large field used for games and sports. We also have a sunken garden, on-site forest school, trim trail and all-weather play area.

As the site of the former botanic gardens, Hymers College is sat in nearly 50 acres of green space, just 10 minutes from the city centre.

Our Junior School pupils have their own fields to play in, separate from the Senior School. They have a trim trail, outdoor table tennis tables, a playground, all-weather quiet area by the lake and a forest school. Pupils also use the outdoor sports courts and astro pitch.

In the Senior School pupils have access to several grassed pitches for games including cricket and rugby, an athletics area, cricket pavillion, the Quad, several outdoor all-weather pitches and courts for sports such as netball, tennis, hockey and football.

Pupils are highly respectful towards each other and appreciate each other’s differences as well as everyone’s common humanity.
