KitchenAid Superba is a brand name owned and manufactured by the KitchenAid company which is a part of the Whirlpool Corporation. Whirlpool is the world's largest appliance maker. The name "KitchenAid" was first known for their mixer. It is trademarked for its unique shape and is one of a few appliances to have this honor. The KitchenAid mixer came about because in 1919 the Hobart Corporation wanted to create a mixer that was smaller than most restaurant's industrial sized mixers at the time. They also make ranges, stoves, toasters and toaster ovens. They are priced from $300 to $3500. It appears that KitchenAid ovens changed their name about five years ago to Architect II. Many of the ovens had issues with failing to work after the self cleaning cycle was used and many other problems. They have many features to choose from. Whirlpool Corporation is still manufacturing their dishwashers under the Superba name. Some models feature a ProWash cycle which uses a sensor to decide the length of the wash time during the pre-rinse stage and adjusts it for optimum cleaning performance. They also have a ProScrub Option which gives the consumer 36 jets to spray their stuck on food off of their plates. KitchenAid Mixer The KitchenAid mixer comes in a very wide variety of colors with 27 different models to choose from. Prices range from $239 to $899. The mixer was called the "best kitchen aid" by an executive's wife who was testing the product and thus the company name was born. Interesting to note is that all stand mixer attachments will fit any KitchenAid stand mixer, including the original. KitchenAid Superba Summary The KitchenAid Superba name today is only used with KitchenAid Superba dishwashers. It has been changed from KitchenAid Superba to Architect II on their refrigerators and ovens. Whirlpool Corporation continues to be the largest manufacturer of home appliances in the world today.
