The University Co-Op Austin,TX Fall 2019, Advance Studio Tamie Glass
Co-Op is a special place for the University of Texas. All people who are somehow related to UT, including current students, alumni, and football fans, at least had one visit at Co-Op. My initial concept is making the store a great and pleasant area for visitors. I am trying to create moments that encourage all groups of customers to go to the store even if they do not want to buy anything.

The main feature of this design is combining structure and form in one. As a starting point for thinking we chose “Origami. The shape of the star gave us the best result and the next step was thinking about the form of the building and preparing usable space.

I decided to challenge myself by working with Resin and Robotic Arm. The process was included four steps. 1- Designing a pattern. 2- Applying the pattern to the steel sheet by using robotic arm 3- Casting resin in the mold 4- Injecting food color and color pigments into the resign to celebrate combination of colors and technology features.
Because Resin needs a mold that do not absorb water, I decided to use a sheet of metal as a mold for my design and carve into it by using Robotic arm. The next step was casting resin in the metal mold and injecting food color and colorful pigments to the resin to make an amazing combination.
