Marios Politis
Marios Politis is a former Professor of Neurology and Neuroimaging at King’s College London. He now serves as the Director of Mireille Gillings Neuroimaging Centre at the University of Exeter. Marios is a scientific advisor to organisations that include the French National Research Agency (ANR), the Medical Research Council (MRC) UK, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Parkinson’s UK, and the Swiss National Science Foundation. He has won numerous awards for excellence in clinical research, among them the Movement Disorder Society Award for Outstanding and Innovative Clinical Research in 2012, and the PET Investigator Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging in 2015. Marios was also elected Fellow of the European Academy of Neurology for his outstanding contribution in neurodegenerative research. The research that Marios undertakes revolves around subjects including the use of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Single Photon Emission Tomography (SPECT) molecular imaging.
