Premium Course For On-Board Air Conditioning To distribute the cooling capacity over several independently operating air handlers from one single central cooling unit, the most flexible and simple solution is to install a chilled water circulation system between the central unit and the air handlers and thus avoiding the installation of large air ductings throughout the boat. This cooling circuit is maintained at approximately +4째 C. All Webasto chiller units are equipped with high efficiency multi-plate exchangers. Temperature regulation of the central chiller unit only refers to the water temperature regardless the number of active air handlers. Air handlers/blowers can therefore be slowed down or even completely stopped without any incidence for the normal operation of the central chiller unit. By reducing the blower speed or stopping selected air handlers altogether, effective capacity transfer to the other active air-handlers is obtained. This allows the installation of an over capacity of air handlers in specific locations to cope with particularly difficult conditions (such as wheelhouse with excessive glass area for example).

Perfect Climate Control in any weather condition with integrated solutions Most air conditioning systems have a reverse cycle function to enable heating with the AC system. However, this requires mild sea water temperatures for efficient heating. Below 6° C sea water temperature the heat cycle becomes inefficient. To gain total autonomy from environmental conditions, Webasto offers the BlueComfort system. It consists of a water heater and a BlueCool air conditioning unit integrated in one system. These unique solutions are cost efficient, space-saving and deliver the perfect climate out of one central system.

In a BlueComfort Premium system an A/C unit and a diesel fired water heater are integrated into one system. The use of a water heater ensures full heating performance even at cooler sea water temperatures where the reverse cycle operation comes to its limits. In this integrated system the same water piping, air handlers, air ducting and cabin temperature control modules are used for both heating and A/C operation. For user friendliness, the main system is controlled via one control panel while each cabin has an individual temperature and blower speed control. The BlueComfort Premium system offers two integration options: the “Basic” and the “DeLuxe“ integration depending on comfort requirements.

DeLuxe Integration
The Basic integration is simply integrating a water heater with a 3 way valve into the chilled water system. The valve ensures that no cold water is running through the heater which would cause condensation. Both the heater and the 3 way motor valve are controlled by the A/C electronic control. A special heater with a lower temperature setting or additional thermostats are needed in order to limit the water temperature to 60° C.
The DeLuxe has all the features of the Basic integration but additionally allows to integrate a water boiler as well as further fan blowers or radiators into the system. It therefore provides the highest comfort in heating and sanitary water supply. The mixing valve limits the water temperature in the A/C loop to 60° C. A summer/winter switch allows to heat the boiler in summer while the A/C system is cooling the cabins at the same time.

Control elements for an easy and reliable control of the systems Chiller Control (BlueCool Premium) The complete Chiller Digital Control System includes a TECC controller card in alu box + Digital Chiller Control panel + cables and accessories. The Chiller Control panel allows direct read out of chilled water temperature at the exit of the chiller condensing unit. Customizable, Integrated Roof Design: the 80 Series With the 80 series, Webasto offers shipyards a completely dedicated frame design fitting the shipyardâ&#x20AC;&#x2DC;s panel design. The frame construction is supplied as a kit which facilitates the installation on board. This innovative roof development approach requires application engineering and a close cooperation between the shipyard and Webasto.
Customized Double Curvature Roof Models: the 150 Series The 150 series of roof solutions by Webasto is the perfect solution for demanding roof projects. The fully integrated roof consists of a moving panel as well as of a fixed panel. The double curvature allows extraordinary design possibilities. The 150 series is supplied as a complete system. Application engineering and a close cooperation between the shipyard and Webasto is required.
