It provides examples of good practice in languages teaching and learning and contains interviews with principals and academics about what contributes to the success, quality and sustainability of languages programs in Australia. Contents:

AGTV to spend 10 weeks in Germany at the end of this school year, and will stay with a host family. Our college has boasted two previous recipients of this scholarship, in 1998 and 2000. Very few students in government schools are fortunate enough to win these scholarships, so the German teachers at Heathmont are extremely proud of his efforts. In four weeks, eleven of Heathmont College's Year 10 German students will travel to Germany with twelve students from Vermont SC to spend a month at our sister-school in Kaufungen in central Germany. We have had this successful partnership since 1996 and have maintained the exchange annually since that time. Such is the strength of our programme that we are even at the point where host parents are being invited to the weddings of students who have lived with them during the exchange!
