The Secretary of PCCS would welcome suggestions from members of guest speakers for future London dinners whom they can help contact.

South Western Dinner
A date has been secured at the Clifton Club for the 20th Annual South-Western Dinner on the evening of Friday 12 November 2021. Details will be circulated to members over the summer.
Trans-Tasman Online Event
On Thursday 15 October 2020 Pembroke held an online event for Members living in Australia and New Zealand.
The event began with a warm welcome from the Master, who then invited Peter Moore (1978) and Rebecca Caroe (1984) to give a quick ‘View from…’ Australia and New Zealand respectively.
Lord Smith brought alumni up to date with what had been happening in College during the first six months of the pandemic, the steps taken to enable the majority of students to return to Pembroke for Michaelmas Term 2020 and progress made on the Mill Lane project. He also thanked Andrew Shelton (1976) and Peter Moore for all the help they have given in support of the Davis McCaughey Scholarship Fund.
Three of the College’s Australian students then said a few words. Niki Sivakumaran (2020, LLM) spoke about her experiences of studying at Cambridge during the pandemic. Stephanie Forrest (2018) talked about the benefits and challenges of trying to write up her History PhD and play a full life in the postgraduate community while having to remain in Melbourne. Finally, Deborah White (2020), the current Davis McCaughey Scholar, thanked Members for supporting the fund, which enabled her to come to Cambridge to read for an MPhil on Criminological Research.
At the end of the event, the Master led a toast to the College and its Members – albeit a non-alcoholic one for those joining from the UK at 8 am!
The College would like to thank Peter Moore for his assistance in organising this event.
