PROJECT OVERVIEW
West Haven Pre-K has commissioned R.M.A. Design team to revitalize their media center and offer two design alternatives for their standard classrooms. The spaces are intended for use by children ages 4-5 and should be designed to be engaging, versatile, secure, and capable of comfortably accommodating at least 10 students and one educator per room.

The design concept for the New Haven Preschool is profoundly influenced by the captivating universe depicted in Marcus Pfister’s “The Rainbow Fish.” This approach aims to encapsulate the book’s essence, characterized by vivid hues and lustrous fish scales, to craft an enchanting aquatic milieu. Our objective is to envelop the children in an educational setting that reflects the book’s splendid imagery, celebrating beauty, diversity, and the sparkling marvels that have made it a cherished literary treasure.
