Casey Taylor Bufford '05
inducted into University of Michigan’s Hall of Fame Five all-time greats from the University of Michigan’s Women’s Track and Field record books will be inducted into the program’s Hall of Fame in January 2017, including Casey Taylor Bufford '05. The indoor and outdoor program record holder in the triple jump, Taylor was a Big Ten Outdoor champion in the event in 2008, earning her first team All-Big Ten honors. She was a four-year letter winner and garnered two second team All-Big Ten recognitions. She also won another conference title as part of the 2009 4x100-meter relay team. Morgan-Leigh Trump '08 and Ryan Maksimik '08 were married Oct. 8, 2016 at Infant Jesus of Prague Church followed by a wedding reception at Olympia Fields Country Club. Big Ten team titles as part of the 2006 indoor and 2007 outdoor squad. She helped lead the Wolverines to the program’s best-ever NCAA finish at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships, when the team placed third. In the classroom, Taylor earned University of Michigan Academic Athletic Achievement recognition. Upon graduation, Taylor pursued graduate school at Northeastern University and later returned to U-M as part of the Michigan Athletics Development Team and the Ross School of Business Sanger Leadership Center. Today, Taylor lives in Maryland with her husband, Branden Bufford, who is a teacher in the Washington D.C. Public School System, along with their six-month-old daughter, Taylor Grace.

After graduating from Notre Dame in 2013, Kaila Turner '09, was accepted into E&J Gallo’s Management Development Program based out of Chicago. She currently serves as District Manager for Breakthru Beverage Group.

Whitney Marie Wandland '09 is the new 2017 Miss Illinois USA. Believing that having a title also comes with a responsibility to give back to the community and to be a voice for others, Whitney intends to make it her mission to call awareness to issues such as “Fighting Childhood Obesity” and “Putting an End to Gun Violence.” She is also elated to promote and fundraise throughout the year for the Warriors for Ross Foundation in order to help children and families battling Pediatric Cancer.

Amber Clay '14, a member of West Point’s volleyball team, was honored as a September 2016 Patriot League Athlete of the Week. She has recorded 22 double-digit kill performances and 10 kill-dig doubles in her career as a Black Knight.
