MARIAN ANNUAL FUND Phonathon Connects to Thousands, Will Exceed Goal of $60,000!
Having a great time during the Phonathon are parent callers Kathy Brzeszkiewicz, mother of Kyle ’14, and Robbie Ratkovich, mother of Erica ’03, and Shane ’14.
Vivian and Steve Payne, parents of Nick ’09 and Kristen ’11, have been Phonathon volunteers for several years.
Student callers included members of the Women’s Basketball team Britta Hanson ’12, and Uzoma Nwabara ’11.
Over seven days of calling at the end of January, over 200 parent and student volunteers gathered in the MCHS Library to contact alumni, current parents, and alumni parents. The goal of the Marian Annual Fund Phonathon was $60,000; $59,473 was pledged, with over $49,000 collected to date. Coordinated by Marian Fund Director, Peg Massucci, and assisted by the entire Advancement Team, even alumni got in the act by participating in student calling sessions. Cassie DiGiovanni ’06, Peter Kroner ’05, James Murphy ’05, Louise Packard ’06, Caitlin Padula ’04, Steve Tortorello ’04, and Meghan Welsh ’04 provided a lot of added fun for our student callers! It’s been said that “friend-raising” and fun are major factors that make the Marian Catholic Phonathon the ever-popular volunteer phenomena it is each year. “We are inspired by the MCHS community who, even in these economically challenging times, ‘answer the call.’ They are responding to the needs of the school, as well as many being extremely generous with their gifts to help others,” said Massucci. While the Marian Annual Fund impacts all aspects of school life, the following have been targeted as this year’s priorities: • Unrestricted gifts – augment school operations at the discretion of administration and Board • S r. Simeon Fund – offers tuition assistance to families with demonstrated need, disbursed to families throughout the school year • Campus Enhancement – provides funding for ongoing maintenance and updates of campus, building, and technology Those we were unable to reach during the Phonathon still have the opportunity to participate. Gifts are fully tax deductible, can be paid in installments, or charged to a credit card. Online pledges/gifts are also an option: www.marianchs.com “Invest in Marian.”

They cannot be thanked enough for giving so much of their time to MCHS, including the many years after their students graduated.
Mea Culpa! Three students from the class of 2010 achieved National Merit Finalist status, but were listed as National Merit Semi-Finalists in the 20092010 Marian Catholic Annual Report. Our most sincere apologies go to Sam Kirschenheiter ’10, Jaime Patriarca ’10, Sean Woods ’10, and their families. The Marian Catholic community is very proud of your accomplishments and wishes you success in your college years and beyond. Sam Kirschenheiter ’10
