I am an extremely detail-oriented and hard-working student. I was awarded Top 3 in the B.Des in Architecture program at the University of Central Florida. The Hydro Tower
How can we analyze the future sustainable development in Miami? Especially in the areas of energy saving, materials, and bioclimatic design?
How can we influence a new cultural movement in regards of sustainability?
One major issue in climate change is ocean pollution. Miami being surrounded by water, it only made sense that we used the ocean as our main design driver The skin of the tower is made of recycled trash from the ocean, converted into concrete.
Programmatically, the Hydro-Tower is focused on education and architectural design research to support our main core purpose of sustainability.
Hydrokinetic machines provide 80% of the energy of the tower.

The Hydro Tower
Designing and studying the site was also heavily inspired by the ocean and its surroundings. It was important to know sun position, wind direction zoning development for the location of our programs. The water depth chart was helpful to decide where to locate the Hydrokinetic machines for the tower's energy source. Lastly, the landscape of the site was re-designed by us to successfully drive as many students and locals as possible to the tower with water as well.
