La Cultura "La Cultura" is a performance by the spanish artist duo “Los Torreznos”, an hour-long work which, sustained by highly intelligent humour, makes the audience reflect on the meaning of what we can understand by culture. Elena Brea Sandín & Maria João Flôxo will present their adaptation of the performance "La Cultura / Culture '', understanding and living the multicultural and social "melting pot" that is the city of Brussels. Territoires Inter.dites ? The "Seios" project, presented for the second time as “Territories Inter.dits?”, is an evolving exploration of unity, boundaries, femininity, and humanity. Through a unique blend of installation and live performance—encompassing music, movement, spoken word, molds, and video—this work challenges the censorship, hypocrisy, and sexualization surrounding the female body, particularly the nipple and breast. Plaster casts of female breasts symbolize the physical, spiritual, and authentic aspects of each participant. As these forms are connected on the wall through a red thread during the performance, they transform into a singular, delimited landscape—a simultaneous union and rupture, creating a visual representation of territory. The presentation delves into deeper, intimate, contradictory, and liberating aspects, questioning not only the concept of censoring the female body but also exploring the diverse opinions and feelings of the 20 women who have contributed to this transformative project.

Dive Dance We are a collective of movers, coming from different backgrounds and disciplines. We come together every two weeks to explore movement specifically in the public space: to embody, to relate and to question public spaces through different angles - socially, architecturally, visually, etc. We wish and attempt to create open and accessible ‘playgrounds’ through improvised movement, dance, and sound in different parts of Brussels. Through the art of improvised movement, we seek to transform the urban landscape into a dynamic and interactive weaving, inviting all to partake in the joy of movement. In this actions we where directed by the dancers Francesca Saraullo & Silvia Pezzarossi. Kaleidoscope Exhibition resulting from a collaboration between the artists Maria João Flôxo and Monica Musoni and invited artists Amélie Laveran and Caroline Vincart, with different backgrounds in photography, video, performance and drawing. During multiple explorations the group walked along a specific protocol to photograph the transitions on the SeeU site. Four different angles and points of view create a fragmented vision, a kaleidoscopic translation of spaces in colors, lines and shapes. The exhibition presents a layered photographic installation that gathers the collective’s observations, as the result of an immersive project in the space of USquare Brussels (SEE U). Action/Reaction As part of the exhibition and performances by Alice de Vischer & Evamaria Schaller at Le Maga, I prepared a performance in response to the action taken by the two artists during the opening and the video_performances of their exhibition. A week later, I present an action/reaction in which I use the space and certain objects that refer to the work of the two artists, which is connected through a red thread and stickers stuck on the body, I make a link between the space and each small action. Territoires Interdits / Forbidden Territories As part of this exhibition, the "Seios" (Breasts) project is presented for the first time as Territoires Interdits (Forbidden Territories), a work-in-progress in which questions of union and border, territory, femininity and humanity, uniqueness and individuality are addressed, reflected on and questioned. 12 female breasts are on display, representing the physical, the spiritual, the authentic and the unique of each woman who has taken part in this work so far. At the same time, we see how these dots on the wall, which are then linked by a red thread through a performance, are transformed into a unique, delineated landscape, driven to achieve a form that can appear both as a union and a rupture, a creation of territory.forbidden, given the censorship, hypocrisy and sexualisation of the female body, in particular the nipple and breast, which are among the most essential bodily elements of human nature itself. 12 plaster female breasts made by direct casting of the body, connected by a thread of red wool. Voyeuristic condition Is a series of works inspired by the video installation "Step back" created with Hernán Arambarri. At a time when we are rethinking what will be experienced in the world from 2020 onwards and using social engineering to change values, we are returning to spying on our neighbours. We live in small spaces (called our own) closed to the real world of contact with others, there's no embrace; what's there are wishes for so-called freedom, but in reality there's no action to achieve that freedom. We remain in the gaze, in the words spoken by the other and we listen to the interweaving of our own networks. Chapitre I, II, III The marks of solitary works where survival and the burden of life have a voice in certain spaces of Visé 8, the cellar, the bathroom and the small living room. Gloom, fatigue, pain, resignation, relief, repetition, human intuition, are the key points of these installations, which perhaps tell a story where the 'déjà vu' of slavery can take place and still feel contemporary. Step back An audio-visual installation produced during Hernán Arambarri and Maria João Flôxo's artistic residency at Atelier Under_Construction. The work speaks of loneliness, in a period of emotional distancing. An audiovisual exercise with very few elements. An attempt to reflect the sadness of our times. A look at the lack of creativity and, why not, the lack of love. Cercle de pouvoir (Power circle) The installation and performance "Cercle du Pouvoir" is a continuation of "Transversus". In a "work in progress" logic, an experiment in dialogue with itself that renews, transforms and transits on questions of human relationships and how these relationships can be subverted and modified depending on the context. The work becomes larger, rounder and pushes back the omnipresence of the body. It now explores the relationship between freedom and power. The performance focuses on the roles of oppressor and oppressed. The boundary between oppressor and oppressed is blurred, and the roles are reversed, creating an addictive circle of power, with the human as an integral part of its connections. Leaves Following on from previous works such as Natures, contact with nature and its traces, textures, spaces, details, etc., gives shape to a new series of small sculptures based on the idea of leaves! Leaves of thoughts, of memories, as if they were themselves guardians of secrets, in which their words are their own textures and their lines as if they were the paths of nature. In this way, a leaf is represented which, with its "veins", comments on its life. These are pieces to stop and investigate all the paths that a leaf can suggest, hence the fact that they are painted in gold and silver, giving them a moment of decontextualization from reality and contextualization in the surrealist and iconic world of art! Brain yourself What's life like when you're living through a pandemic where widespread fear jeopardises any possibility of physical, mental and spiritual resistance? It's like little pieces born of a confinement where the world has come to a standstill, values have changed and a lack of rationing and critical thinking has disappeared in part of society! It's clearly a critique, which makes us think about why we've stopped thinking about what's really important and what each of us feels is innate, including the loss of common sense. In these times of controversy and separation, I propose that we all get our brains back and think for ourselves without the influence of the big media or world leaders. I propose a return to debate! Natures This is a series of sculptural pieces that began in 2019 and is always present in Maria João Flôxo's work. Fragile works that represent an imaginary nature, where textures come to life and become possible mountains, rocks, plains, etc. Landscapes of the unconscious and of our experience as human beings, as beings of nature. As an artist, she pursues "the search for the relationship between human beings and nature, and with their inner light, which is in constant evolution; in a metaphorical and philosophical context ... after all, we are Nature! Plaster / Wood September 2020 RetrExpo – Art Residency- Parcours We ART XL Espirito Mundo, ASBL, at SeeU / Brussels

Transversus Transversus is presented as a metaphor for human and transatlantic interconnections. The crossing depends on a collective or an individual crossing a place, a territory, a thought. This journey can take in subjective territories tinged with affection. The body is omnipresent, and the "dress“, "Teia“, is a kind of skin that protects and imprisons it. Her net, a topography of the imaginary, unfurls and describes a trajectory; it draws the gesture and the trace of time; it launches emancipation.
