The advertisement Dear diary: Today Reading the newspaper I found an advertisement that offered a vacation plan on a Castle on Italy I really wanted to go, sometimes I can´t handle with my life so I think it might be great to take a time for myself I talked about it with Mrs. Arbuthnot so we agreed, but we are still in need to find another two women who want to come with us.
Making plans for holidays Dear diary: I haven´t told my husband about the holiday either about going with strangers but all week I have gave him special meals, I hope he doesn´t get angry when I tell him. But in good news two women have already confirm about going with us, so today Rose and I are planning on meeting them. I hope they are kind women and that I can tell my husband
Dear diary: Everything is going wrong yesterday Rose and I met the two women who are going with us, Lady Caroline and Mrs. Fisher. I don’t really liked Mrs. Fisher, she´s an old woman and too I already told my husband about the vacation, he isn’t happy and less because he first told me that he would take me to Italy and I have to tell him that I already arrange for going by myself. These last weeks have been a nightmare but finally tomorrow morning I´m leaving.
The journey to Italy Dear diary: Today March 30th Rose and I took our train I´m feeling really happy even though it’s a very rainy day, our first train was to Paris, France and then from Paris to Italy we should be arriving by April 1st so we can prepare everything for our guests. The weather make me feel sad, but the idea of our trip makes me really happy.
Dear diary: Today is April 1st we are finally in Italy, but not in the castle a man named Beppo arrived for us, he speak Italian and we English so it was really confusing a funny story was that while he was riding he turned to tell us something, scared because he wasn´t looking at the way we start making signs for him to look to the front, but he understand that we wanted to go faster, so he screamed at the horse and he start going faster. It was night and it was really rainy, but at least after 1hr we arrived to the Castle and Rose and I were finally happy, I have really forgotten about my husband.
San Salvatore Dear diary: April 1st Today is our first day in San Salvatore when we wake up we find out that our guests have arrived before us, and they already have a meal this morning, we wanted to give a welcome to them but doesn´t matter. Lady Carolina is a really pretty woman but she is quite apart from us but that’s ok she seems as a nice girl, in the other side Mrs. Fisher she´s like trying to take control of everything, I don’t like her and she doesn’t like us either.
Will the magic work Dear diary: April 7th Rose and I have been passing a really good time, in the gardens, in the sea and in every part of the castle but Mrs. Fisher is stressing me, she tried to force lady Caroline to eat, and too she have bad manners with the servant. I understand she´s and old woman but why she has to be angry all the time? Today after the fight of the meal I realized Lady Carolina wants to be alone without of bothering her, and I understand she might have a difficult life in London so now she´s trying to be alone and calm.
Lottie sends a letter Dear diary: April 10th I have been feeling alone, and I feel selfish for coming by myself and not with my husband, he had invited me to Italy with him, I think I will invite him to come, there´s plenty of space in here, and I will tell Rose to invite her husband too. I have already got on well with Mrs. Fisher but Rose haven´t she doesn’t like her because she is a very special woman to treat, too she has an old minded.
The magic of san Salvatore Dear diary: April 14th Today Carolina was wearing a beautiful pink dress, Rose to wants to send a letter to her husband but she´s a little ashamed about it, when I asked her she turned red too she isn´t complete sure about it, she thinks that she´s going to lose her freedom. Mrs. Fisher told us about inviting a friend to stay with her.
Mr. Wilkins arrive Dear diary: April 17th my husband arrived today, he have already talked to Lady Carolina and Mrs. Fisher and both of them liked him. Too a funny part of the day was he doesn´t speak Italian so he have a problem at the bath.
A telegram for Rose Dear diary: April 25th We received a telegram from Thomas Briggs the owner of the house, he said he is coming I don’t know shy Rose look sad when I read it, he arrived today, he´s a very nice man I think he have felt in love with Lady Carolina. I´m having the best vacations ever, Mellersh have changed for good, that´s the magic of San Salvatore.
Another visitor at San Salvatore Dear diary: this is our last week at San Salvatore Lady Carolina got angry because another man have fallen in love with her, she tried to escape by hiding in her room and it worked, I don´t know why she hided Thomas is a very nice man. Ferdinand Arudel arrived too to the castle he is a friend of Lady Carolina, and even though she wasn´t happy that he came he accepted it and used him as an excuse to have Thomas apart from her. Too finally Frederick arrived I loved seeing Rose happy, she deserve it. And the most important this week, finally we saw Mrs. Fisher smiling and laughing, is the magic of San Salvatore.
Magic and moonlight Dear diary: This last week in San Salvatore, the prettiest flowers appeared, the best scents where created, and the gardens look the most beautiful they can. Everybody have changed, know I´m happier too Rose and our husbands. Lady Caroline realized Thomas was a very good man, and Mrs. Fisher finally was happy. We all returned to our houses, but we returned with a change I´ve never been grateful for a holiday.
CONLUSION This book is about 4 women who decide to separate from their life, to have a time for themselves, but finally they realize that they missed their Family even though it was complicated when they were home, after a month at San Salvatore all of them have changed for good.
PERSONSAL OPINION I really like the book, how they feel and act, and how they get on well with each other, and the message that you get about that sometimes all you need is time for yourself to see who y ou really need and miss. The book is great but the only thing I didn´t like was the way that landscapes are described isn´t really good, I didn´t really imagined the landscapes.
