The year 2013 is a year that did not sta rt we ll and that it will be difficult for everyone, especially for com panies and employees.
O ano 2013 é um ano que não começou bem e que vai ser difícil para todos, nomeadamente, para as empresas e colaboradores. Temos presenciado o esforço, de todo um povo que não des istiu de lutar contra ventos e marés, contrariando, a imagem que que rem passar das empresas e do povo Português.
We are witnessing the struggle of a people who did not give up fighting against the odds, contradicting the image that some people want to spread, about Portuguese com panies and people.
É com este es pírito que a TECNOPROJECTO INTERNACIONAL, S.A. encarou, antecipou, planeou a estratégia para este ano complicado e para os próximos. Este novo rumo apoia-se numa nova abordagem de Comunicação Interna e Externa. RIGOR É A PALAVRA DE ORDEM Como a maioria das empresas, a TECNOPROJECTO INTERNACIONAL, S.A. tem sentido os efeitos da recessão, traduzindo-se numa quebra acentuada da sua actividade. Contudo, os resultados globais de 2012, a nível do Grupo TCPI, foram positivos. Ainda que pos itivos, os objectivos operacionais de finidos, para 2012, não foram a tingidos, apesar de algumas perspectivas interessantes, nomeadamente, no me rcado Angolano. Em 2013, a tendência recessiva mantém-se. Mais do que nunca, é necessário um controlo rigoroso da Gestão Financeira e das despesas. É uma atitude que tem de ser reforçada seja na negociação, seja na execução dos proje ctos, apesar, des ta filosofia já existir na empresa. É da responsabilidade de todos, uma boa prestação de serviços e a defesa da imagem que se transm ite dentro e fora da empresa. Devemos defender os inte resses da empresa como se fosse a nossa própria empresa, nomeadamente, na redução do desperdício, re correndo, unicamente, aos recursos necessários. Só assim, pode remos cresce r mais e me lhor. A Política de Expansão do Grupo TCPI manter-se-á, ao longo, do ano 2013. A curto prazo, a nossa prese nça na América Latina será uma rea lidade, nomeadamente, na Venezuela onde a TCPI está a concorre r para um g rande Proje cto na indústria do Papel. RIGOR IS THE WORD OF ORDER Like most companies, TECNOPROJECTO INTERNATIONAL, SA has felt the effects of the re cession, resulting in a sharp fall in its activity. However, the overall results of the TCPI Group, in 2012, were pos itives. Although positive, the operational goals establis hed for 2012 were not achieved, despite some inte resting pe rspectives, namely, in the Angolan market. In 2013, a recessive tende ncy is expected to continue. More than ever, it is necessary to strictly control the Financia l Management and spending. It is an attitude that needs to be strengthe ned in the negotiation and impleme ntation of proje cts, although, this philosophy, already, exists in the company. Everyone in the company shall be responsible for delivering good services and defe nd the image that is sprea d within and outside the com pany. We must defend the interests of the com pany as if it we re our own, namely, in reducing waste, using solely the necessary resources needed. Only thus can we grow more and bette r. The TCPI Group Expansion Policy will be maintained in year 2013. In a short term, our prese nce in La tin America will be a reality, namely, in Venezuela where TCPI is applying for a major proje ct in the Pape r industry. O nosso Administra dor, o Sr. José Manuel Brandão participou na Comitiva Empresarial do Exmo. Sr. Presidente da República, o Sr. Dr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva, na visita oficial à Colômbia e ao Pe ru, em Abril 2013.

Apesar de já haver contactos anteriores com pa íses da América Latina, esta visita pe rmitiu à TE CNOPROJECTO INTERNACIONAL, S.A dar-se a conhecer nestes mercados e estabelecer novos contactos e reforçar os já existentes.
Despite the exis tence of previous contacts with Latin America’s countries, this visit allowed TECNOPROJECTO INTERNATIONAL, SA making itself known, in these new markets, establishing ne w contacts and stre ngthen the existing ones.

Finalmente, terminados os exercícios de 2012 e revisão das contas, os números oficia is são conhecidos.
The annual accounts of the financial year of 2012 are closed and the re levant audits finished. Official num bers are now known and certified.
A TCPI continua, apesar da conjuntura económica e financeira que se vem sentido nos últimos a nos, a apresenta r resultados positivos e uma forte capacidade de investimento e continuida de de actividade, pelas mais diversas localizações, por todo o m undo.
Despite the econom ic and financia l environment that has been fe lt in recent years, TCPI continues to show positive results and a strong investment capacity and continuity of activity in diverse locations around the world.
O ano de 2012 foi o ano em que iniciámos actividades nos Camarões e na Guiné Conacri. Mantivemos presença na Sérvia, em França, na Roménia e em Angola e iniciámos os processos de constituição de empresas e/ou representações também na Rússia e Moçambique.
In 2012 TCPI started activities in Came roon and Guinea Conakry. We maintained presence in Serbia, France, Romania and Angola, and we began the process of bus iness formation and / or represe ntations in Russia and Mozambique.
O Grupo TCPI mantém uma forte motivação na procura de novos trabalhos, e é também já conhecida a actividade a decorrer desde Fevereiro de 2013, na Estónia (em Narva), onde se espera que nos possamos estabe lecer e participar nos investime ntos conhecidos pa ra esse país nos próximos anos.
The TCPI Group maintains a strong motivation in seeking new projects, and the activity taking place, since February 2013, in Estonia (Narva) is already known, where it is expected to establish and participate in investments known for this country in the coming years. Also in Angola, the expectation is high, with the pa rticipation in large proje cts, reflecting the growth already planned s ince the year. 2012.
Também em Angola, a expectativa é grande, com a participação em projectos de maior dimensão, reflectindo o crescimento já proje ctado desde o ano de 2012. Foi um ano de conhecida redução de actividade em que atingimos o nível geral de 26 Milhões de Euros de Volume de Negócios, em que o Resultado Líquido também global ascendeu a 4,38% da actividade referida. As auditorias decorreram dentro da normalidade e as contas foram certificadas, em todos as nossas localizações, sem quaisquer qualificações ou rese rvas. Os Resultados continuam a se r pos itivos, precisamos apenas de nos manter em actividade, procurando e contribuindo pa ra novos trabalhos e desafios.

It was a year of known reduction of activity in which we reached 26 Million Euros in Turnover. The net result represents 4.38% of that activity. The audits took place as usual and the annua l accounts we re certified in all our locations, without any qualifica tions or reservations. The results continue to be positives; but we need to keep us in business, and looking for new jobs and contributing to new challenges.

CONTROLO DE GESTÃO UMA NOVA EQUIPA Sendo o Controlo de Gestão uma área crucia l nas empresas, e tendo em conta o facto de ir abraçar e acumular novas funções, foi necessário escolher “um braço direito” que desse apoio na função de Controlo de Gestão. Desde de Abril 2013, que o Adilson Santos assumiu uma nova função no Controlo de Gestão. Gostaria de deixar cla ro que, apesar de ir assumir novas funções mais come rciais junto do Adm inistrador e “in loco”, nas obras, o Controlo de Gestão mantém-se uma das minhas prioridades. É fundamental pa ra todos os sectores da empresa que a informação de gestão dos projectos chegue rapidamente pela via dos Dir. de Projecto e Dir. Obra. Se assim for, é uma ferramenta fulcral que vai servir de guia de controlo, ao longo do dese nrolar das obras. Pe rmite “tira r uma fotografia” fiável e real a qualquer altura de um proje cto, permitindo a tomada de decisões e escolhas de estratégias mais ace rtadas. O acompanhamento diário, planeado, organizado e coordenado, permite a identificação de eventuais situações, que se não forem devidamente identifica das e controladas, levam ao desvio na execução das obras, tanto ao nível de prazos como ao nível de rentabilidade financeira. A dupla está agora formada, esperando a coope ração de todas as Unidades de Negócios, para nos tornarm os mais eficientes e eficazes.

MANAGEMENT CONTROL A NEW TEAM Being the Management Control, a crucial area in any company, and regarding to the fact that I will embrace and accumulate new functions, it was necessary to choose the "right hand man" who would support me in this function of Management Control. Since April 2013, Adilson Santos took on a new role in the Management Control. I would like to emphasize that, des pite the fact of going to report for commercial matters and new developing business, to the CEO, and to be more "in situ" (on site), the Management Control will continuing to be one of my priorities. It is critical for all sectors of the company that the proje ct management information be available quickly via Proje ct Manager and Site Manager. This way of working is the key tool that will serve as a guide control over the progress of the Scope of works. It allows to take the “right picture ”, reliable and real at any time, during the project, permitting to make the best decisions and changing stra tegies, if neede d. The daily monitoring, planne d, organized and coordinate d, allows the identification of possible situations, which if not prope rly identified and controlled, will lead to deviations in the execution of works, both of dead-lines and profitability. The team is now formed and expe cting coopera tion from all Business Units, to be come more efficient and effe ctive.

A minha ida à TCPI Internacional baseou-se em dois objectivos: acompanhar a Auditoria Financeira Final da TCPI Angola, do ano 2012 e obter uma formação do nosso software de trabalho, SAP.
My trip to the TCPI Internacional was based on two objectives: to monitor the Financial Audit of TCPI Angola for the year 2012 and get training in our working software, SAP.
Tive um grande acolhimento, não digo isso por uma ou duas pessoas com quem interagi primeiro, mas pelas pessoas todas dos outros departamentos, nomeadamente, a Graça Santos, a Marieta Alves, o Adilson Santos e a Raquel Silva. No princípio foi meio difícil, porque primeiro não estava habituado a temperaturas abaixo dos 17ºC, depois era uma realidade muito diferente da que vivo em Angola, e ainda mais por ser a primeira vez a ver muita das tarefas que vi. Mas a atenção, compreensão e ajuda não faltou por parte dos colegas, pois, consegui alcançar os objectivos que estavam estabelecidos. Aprendi muito na minha passagem pela sede da TCPI Internacional, para além, do acompanhamento da auditoria e da formação em SAP, tive a oportunidade de entender melhor o circuito das tarefas nas diversas áreas adminis trativa, a organização e o rigor de como são executadas. Com a formação em SAP, agradeço a paciência da Rita Monteiro, que foi a minha formadora, aprendi a dar tratamento de toda a informação contabilística que é produzida em Angola, conhecer melhor o ambiente finance iro no SAP. Foi bom compartilhar a experiencia profissional de muitos, fez-me amadurecer mais profissionalmente e ter uma visão mais ampla do ambiente num escritório de maior dimensão.” Vado Cleúsio Administrativo de Contabilidade
I had a great welcome, I do not say this for one or two people with whom I interacted firs t but by all the people of others departments, namely Graça Santos, Marieta Alves, Adilson Santos and Raquel Silva. At first, it was a little hard because I was not used to temperatures below 17 ° C, then it was a very different reality from the one I live in Angola, and even more because it was the first time I was perform ing the tasks I saw. But the attention, understanding and help that were given to me by colleagues allowed me to achieve the objectives that we re set. I learned a lot in my s tayed in TCPI Internacional Headquarte rs, beyond, monitoring and auditing in SAP training, I had the opportunity to better unders tanding the circuit of adminis trative tasks in different areas, the organization and the rigor with which they are executed. With training in SAP, I appreciated the patience of Rita Monteiro, who was my trainer; I learned to treat all accounting information that is produced in Angola, to better understand the financial environment in SAP. NOVO ARCO DE CONTENÇÃO (NSC- ARCH) CHERNOB YL CENTRAL NUCLEAR - UCR ÂNIA Em Novembro de 2012, a primeira se cção do arco (parte Este), foi levantada a uma altura de 22 m interino. A conclusão positiva sobre o "Licenciamento Pacote 6" já foi recebida das Autoridades, em 12/04/2013. is to representa um marco importante para o projecto, uma vez que conclui a fase de conce pção de todo o projecto e permite, agora, o progresso da construção dos edifícios e sis temas de trabalho. Esta é a primeira realização de um trabalho em equipa, que tem provado a sua tenacidade e resistê ncia ao longo de um processo moroso. Desde Abril de 2009, os e ngenheiros de E&I da TCPI estão envolvidos neste g rande projecto como parte de uma equipe de engenharia provenie ntes de diversos países, cerca de 40 pessoas. Resultante da conclusão da fase de design de todo o proje cto, agora é hora de desenvolver o trabalho de proje cto e de cons trução dos edifícios e os sistemas que suportam o "Novo Sarcófago de Protecção NSC”. Devido a isso, a TCPI viu estendida a sua participação neste projecto, com a inclusão de cinco novos elementos. Como o E&I Coordena dor no Projecto Novarka, tenho o prazer de acolher os nossos colegas: José Amaro, Luís Pestana e Ana Pais.
NEW SAVE CONF INEMENT (NS C-AR CH) CHERNOB YL NUCLEAR PLANT - UKR AINE In November 2012, the first section of the “ Arch” (East part), was raised to an interim height of 22m. The positive conclus ion on the "Licensing Package 6" has now been rece ived from the Authorities on 12/04/2013. This represents a major milestone for the Proje ct, as it concludes the Design stage for the entire Proje ct and allows now the prog ress of the Working Documenta tion and construction of the buildings and systems. This is first achievement of a team work, which has proven its tenacity and e ndurance over a long process. Since April 2009, E&I TCPI engineers were involved in this huge project as pa rt of an e ngineering team originating from many different countries, of about 40 people. Resulting of the conclusion of the design stage of the entire Project, it’s now time to develop the working and construction docume ntation of the buildings and the systems which supports the “New Safe Confinement NSC”. Because of this TCPI saw extended their pa rticipation in this Proje ct, with the inclusion of five new e lements. “NEW CFB 300MW POWER PLANT” PROJECT - AUVERE, ESTONIA
Em Janeiro de 2011, o Grupo Francês ALSTOM POWER, assina o contrato com a Eesti Energia (empresa Estatal de produção e distribuição de ene rgia elé ctrica da Es tónia), para a execução de um projecto, fabricação, ins talação e comissionamento, de uma nova Central Termo Elé ctrica com uma potê ncia de 300 MWh, situada em AuvereNarva, na Estónia.
In January 2011, the French g roup Alstom Powe r s igned the contract with Eesti Energia (state owned company of production and distribution of electricity in Estonia) for the im plementa tion of a proje ct, manufacture, installation and comm issioning of a new Thermo Powe r Plant with a power output of 300 MWh, located in Auvere-Narva, Estonia.
O projecto, inclui o fornecimento do manuseio final do combustível (xisto be tuminoso), a caldeira CFB (Coal Fuel Burne r), a turbina a vapor, o tratamento de gases de combustão, automação e sistemas de controlo e sistemas eléctricos para cada unidade.
The project includes the supply of final fuel handling (shale), the CFB boile r (Coal Fuel Burne r), steam turbine, treatment of flue gases, automation and control systems and electrical systems for each unit.
Esta prime ira pedra foi lançada a 4 de Maio de 2012, tendo uma previsão de entrada em funcionamento, em 2015. A TCPI nesta obra, é responsável pela instalação de todos os equipamentos relacionados com a distribuição eléctrica, média tensão (35, 18 & 10 KV) e baixa tensão (400V). A montagem iniciou-se a 23/02/2013. Entre vários equipamentos a instalar, há que destacar 1 transformador a óleo de 330KV/18KV com um peso de 300 toneladas, 1 tra nsformador a óle o de 10KV/18KV com um peso de cerca de 75 toneladas e um transformador de óleo de 35KV/10KV com um pes o de cerca de 78 toneladas, a ins talação de cerca 113 equipamentos DC & DCS, 91 quadros de baixa tensão e 58 quadros de média tensão, assim como, a passagem de cabos num total de 533.000 metros, estando estes subdivididos em 20.000 metros de ca bos de Media tensão, 310.000 de cabos de baixa tensão e 203.000 de cabos de controlo e instrumentação, e respectivas ligações, num total de 6.118 pontas de cabo. Participa neste projecto o seguinte pessoal da TCPI: Alfredo Martinez; Victor Cruz; Hugo José, Nels on Santos, Anabela Vasquez, Francisco Gonçalves, João Viegas, José António Alves, Lenine Conduto, Nels on Martins e Equipa TCPI Roménia.

TCPI is responsible for the ins tallation of all equipments related to electrical distribution, medium voltage (35, 18 & 10 KV) and low voltage (400V). The assembly started on 23.02.2013. Among various equipments to install, we m ust em phasize one transformer oil 330KV/18KV with a weight of 300 tons, 1 transformer oil 10KV/18KV weighing about 75 tones and an oil transforme r with 35KV/10KV a weight of about 78 tons, the installa tion of about 113 & DCS equipment DC, 91 frames of low voltage and medium voltage switchgear 58. As well as the cables tray totalling 533.000 meters subdivide d into 20.000 meters of cables media voltage, 310.000 of low voltage cables and 203.000 of control cables and instrumentation, and their connections, a total of 6.118 points cable. O CLUBE DESPORTIVO DA TCPI CONTINUA A CRECSER O Clube Desportivo TCPI continua a crescer e este ano fizemos a nossa estreia Internacional e estivemos presentes na Meia Maratona Rock & Roll em Madrid. Este evento teve uma logística diferente e maior do que o habitual, mas o feedback que tivemos dos participantes é para repetir, com certeza! Outra novidade em Portugal é “The Colour Run”. Veio dos Estados Unidos e está a ser muito contagiante, nós estivemos na corrida de Coimbra e vamos estar em Lisboa, pois é sem dúvida a mais colorida e bastante divertida das corridas onde já participámos.
SPORTS CLUB OF TCPI CONTINUES TO GROW The Sports Club TCPI continues to grow and this year we made our international start and we attended to the Rock & Roll Half Marathon in Madrid. This event had a different and more complex logistics than the usual, but the feedback we got from participants is to repeat, for sure! Another new spot in Portugal is “The Colour Run”. It came from the United States and is being very contagious, we went to Coimbra race and we will be in Lisbon, it is undoubtedly the most colourful and very fun race we have participated.
