The XO’s will also allow teachers to monitor and examine each child’s progress throughout the school year. “Teachers will be able to track a child’s progress on various numeracy and literacy based activities”. Said Shirlee. The laptops which are designed for educational purposes are like no other device you’ve encountered before. The XO has been designed to inspire and engage children, and allow them to collaborate and connect – it’s a small machine with big capabilities. Not only is the XO tough enough to withstand the most extreme real life conditions, it’s versatile enough to keep up with children’s ever-changing needs and even comes with a built in camera and voice recorder. Mareeba State Primary School is the first school on the Tablelands to introduce XO’s to the classroom and it positions them at the forefront of new technology

in our ever changing world. “The world is changing and we have to make sure our children are ready for it. The XO’s are a versatile learning tool and we are excited to start the new program in 2014”.
