World class muso tours region ONE of the world’s best trumpet and cornet musicians will kick off his Far North tour in Atherton today. John Foster, who owns the largest collection of authentic historical wind instruments in the southern hemisphere, will conduct three performances across the Far North this month. That starts today at Atherton’s St Joseph’s Church from 6pm. Mr Foster will exhibit, demonstrate and perform on one of the only two existing horns from around 1870 which was used in the premiere performance of Johannes Brahms second symphony in 1877. The other horn is in the Royal Academy of Music in London. Mr Foster will also perform at Mossman’s St David’s Church this Friday from 6pm and then at Cairns Presbyterian Church on Saturday from 4pm.
