Delivered in July 2022, Energy Yacht features a stunning exterior design by Espen Øino whose team was also appointed to develop the General Arrangement. Zuretti Interior Designers are the studio behind the custom interiors. This Amels Full Custom benefits from a number of standout features including a large open top deck, large aft pool and very wide side decks that can be utilised as private guest balconies. This 78m superyacht is the first Amels Full Custom to be delivered by Damen Yachting since the introduction of the Limited Editions concept in 2005.

Construction of the Alia Sea Club 53m full custom yacht is progressing smoothly and on schedule at the shipyard in Antalya, Turkey. The 499GT yacht’s exterior design and general arrangement is by Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture, while Diana Yacht Design handled her naval architecture. Featuring a large covered tender bay on main deck for tenders and toys, a fully certified heli-deck, a water sport centre, and accommodation for six guests in two cabins and a master suite, the yacht is scheduled to be completed in a very fast build time of just 24 months.

CMC Marine had a successful TrawlerFest Baltimore, the boat show dedicated to the numerous builders, owners and fans of trawlers and compact boats that are particularly suited to the STAB range of products in the company’s Waveless line of high-speed, ultra-compact electric fin stabilizers for boats 12m in length and over. The event, held from 29 September to 1 October, is hosted by PassageMaker magazine, which each year organises four small boat shows in different parts of the United States. The Italian company whose electrical products have revolutionised the yacht stabilization industry is attending numerous festivals, boat shows and sector events this year. METRADE 2022

Heesen is delighted to announce that the keel laying of YN 20750, Project Orion, took place on 14 September at the Oss shipyard, witnessed by the ABS surveyor. Like the constellation whose name she bears, Orion is distinctive, unmistakable, and sure to turn heads wherever she sails. At 50m overall, with a shallow draft and a sub-500 GT enclosed volume, Project Orion will be powered by Heesen’s hybrid propulsion system, which delivers the ultimate luxury in yachting: silent cruising. Heesen’s 50m FHDF series is not only ultra-quiet but also extremely fuel efficient.

Late September of this year, MB92 La Ciotat announced that its new 4,300t ship lift has successfully hauled out its first client, the 60m superyacht Bella Vita, built by Lürssen in 2010. The construction of the 4,300t facility, which can accommodate six superyachts simultaneously up to 115m in length, represents a total investment of EUR 47.6m for MB92 Group and was delivered on time despite multiple challenges from Covid-19 and supply chain issues. The expansions, managed alongside La Ciotat Shipyards over the past 30 months, brought together 80 companies and involved the tenacity and professionalism of hundreds of people to create one of the industry’s most technologically and environmentally innovative superyacht platforms.

ECODECK; thé sustainable alternative to teak

An important product of Marron Jachtbouw is the self-developed M-EcoDeck, which has a great future in superyacht building. Because of the known scarcity of teak, this is a very nice recyclable and sustainable alternative with the right high-end appearance. M-EcoDeck is widely applicable in all designs, in various colors and plank widths, also as for example caprail, stair treads, skirting boards and exclusive wall panels.

Rolls-Royce and Italian yacht builder Sanlorenzo plan to develop and build a large motor yacht with a methanol engine propulsion system able to run carbon-neutrally on ‘green’ methanol. The two companies announced an exclusive memorandum of understanding to this effect for yachts between 40 and 70 meters on the eve of the opening of the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival. Powered by two mtu methanol engines based on the Series 4000, the Sanlorenzo yacht is expected to undertake her maiden voyage in 2026.

The London-based design studio Vitruvius Yachts has revealed the first details of its latest superyacht concept: an 80m go-anywhere explorer yacht. With the design following closely in the footsteps of Vitruvius’ 54.9m Shinkai – built by Feadship in the Netherlands and delivered in 2021 – this new explorer is notable for its long aft deck which is ideal for storing a generous toy collection or even a helipad. Designed to satisfy the most active and adventurous of owners, the explorer boasts a vast beach club and health centre below deck, enabling direct and convenient access to the sea for water sports.

Shadowcat, the leading developer of catamaran support yachts, announced that it has expanded its portfolio to include a fully bespoke monohull shadow vessel. The new concept, Shadowolf, is Shadowcat’s first single-hulled support yacht and is available to meet the increasing demand for guest-level comfort and services. The vessel’s new hybrid hull design focuses on passenger comfort and accommodation, while still enhancing adventures at sea. Shadowolf perfectly supports a superyacht and is ideal for expanding options on multi-day excursions, voyages into more remote locations, and/or for chartering or research purposes.

Coming in the wake of the successful 50m series by Tankoa Yachts and named after the famous opera house in Venice, the 68m Fenice is based on a new naval platform with elegant and streamlined, bold and dynamic exterior styling by Enrico Gobbi of Venicebased Team for Design. Encouraging guests and owners to bask in the outdoor spaces and revel in the indoor space, the circulation flow aboard the T680 Fenice has been studied to make the transition between the two as seamless and natural as possible for maximum relaxation and conviviality. With aerodynamic lines and curves inspired by automotive and aeronautical design, the overall effect is beauty in motion.
