141.6M LONG SUPERYACHT NORD TOOK JUST UNDER FOUR YEARS TO BUILD AND THE VESSEL HAS NOW OFFICIALLY BEEN HANDED OVER TO ITS OWNER AFTER HER MAIDEN VOYAGE FROM THE LÜRSSEN SHIPYARD IN GERMANY. NORD, FORMERLY PROJECT OPUS, WAS BUILT UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF YACHT BROKERAGE MORAN YACHT & SHIP BASED IN FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA.

Responsible for her stunning exterior and interior design is Italian design studio Nuvolari-Lenard, which has given Nord her striking appearance with a bow design never before seen on a yacht. “Nord was designed with one idea in mind: she must cause strong emotions in every observer, not only through her sheer size, but also with the design itself. No one should be left indifferent”, says co-founder of the Nuvolari–Lenard firm Dan Lenard. “Whether you like the design or not, it should strike you. Nord is a serious ship first and foremost, but she also transcends the traditional language of yacht design. She is a warship wearing a tuxedo, an explorer with the elegance of a gentleman’s yacht. the design team from Nuvolari-Lenard, Moran Yacht & Ship who supervised the build on behalf of the owner and, of course, the Lürssen project team. “We are looking forward to Nord fnding her place amongst her peers as a remarkable statement in large yacht construction, based on a strong design and expert engineering skills.”

Nord has implemented an exhaust after treatment system, which consists of the combination of a silencer with a selective catalytic reduction in the same casing that can achieve a cleaning rate of up to 97% of nitrogen and additional reduction of acoustic noise – a Lürssen development. This project is yet another extraordinary example of the collaborative efforts between the designers, shipyard, and team at Moran Yacht & Ship. Nord represents the largest new construction project sold & delivered by a yacht brokerage to date.

Built from steel and aluminium to PYC standards, Nord encompasses six decks and can accommodate up to 36 guests across 20 cabins for comfortable and independent worldwide cruising. Throughout her six decks, she is feature-rich with high-end amenities to delight and caters to every imaginable whim. The quality of build and care that went into the creation of Nord are unrivalled. Simply put, she is the culmination of striving for only the absolute best.

Nord features zero speed stabilisers, a gym, an elevator, a swimming pool, movie theatre, tender garage, swimming platform, airconditioning, BBQ, beach club, spa room, sauna, underwater lights, and even a beauty salon. There are also two helicopter landing pads, one is on the bow of the yacht while the other one is located on the top deck. The one on the top deck can be covered by a hangar that is built into the main mast.
