NEWS IN BRIEF New GM at Parker Hannifin Netherlands
Two New Damen PSV 3300s on Order Following Damen’s delivery of the sixth and final Damen PSV 3300 for Norway’s World Wide Supply, Switzerland-based offshore operator Promar has entrusted Damen to deliver two new build PSV 3300s. They will be the largest vessels in the fleet of the company – a new client for Damen. Promar intends to employ the 80m PSVs in West Africa, where they have been chartering since 2002. “The Promar PSV 3300 is being tailored to meet or even exceed our charterers’ expectations,” Promar’s Chartering Supervisor, Olivier Meynis de Paulin stresses. Several specifications are being added such as Fire-Fighting Ship 1, ROV preparations, oil spill detection radar and a tank heating system. Mr Meynis de Paulin says: “The PSV 3300 is at the forefront of technology in terms of equipment, being modern and reliable. These ships are built in line with North Sea standards.”
Parket Hannifin’s Dutch operations have a new General Manager. Freddy Eggengoor (pictured) stepped into the role at the beginning of the year. Mr Eggengoor joined Parker Netherlands in 1994 and during his 20 years of service has worked in all areas of Parker’s sales activities and has brought the commercial organisation to a higher level. Mr Eggengoor succeeds Herman Schutte who, after over 30 years of dedicated service for the company, has contributed significantly to the growth that Parker has made in the field of building complete hydraulic and pneumatic systems in the Netherlands.
Alewijnse Wins Refit Order For the full electrical refit of the seismic vessel Polarcus Naila, ship repair and conversion yard Shipdock Amsterdam has subcontracted Alewijnse Marine Systems for all aspects of marine electrical engineering. The ultra-modern, 12 streamer 3D/4D seismic vessel was due to arrive in February at the Damenowned yard for a refit scheduled to last 35 days.
