outfitters Intellian’s GX100NX Antenna Gains Inmarsat Approval

Damen Develops BWT Ex Deckhouse Able to Withstand Wave Slamming

Antenna systems specialist Intellian has received product approval from Inmarsat for the new GX100NX antenna. This follows excellent results achieved during recent testing at Inmarsat’s facility in Ålesund, Norway, followed by a successful sea trial. The next-generation GX100NX antenna supports 2.5GHz Ka wideband networks out of the box and is supplied with a 5W BUC as standard, with the option to upgrade to a high-power 10W unit. This makes the GX100NX upgradable and futureproof for Inmarsat’s next generation high-capacity, high-speed constellation and future network upgrades. Extensive sea trials demonstrated the significant advances over previous GX100 models, with faster satellite acquisition and a staggering 1dB (25%) signal increase. i. www.intelliantech.com Damen has developed standard Ballast Water Treatment Ex certified deckhouses. Because of the 8mm wall thickness, these deck houses are able to withstand wave slamming forces and can be placed on the open deck of a tanker vessel. Each deckhouse is delivered as a pre-assembled solution, including the ballast water treatment system with all internal piping and wiring, for easy integration into the vessel. The deckhouse is a ‘plug and play’ solution, with the absolute minimum of downtime for the vessel in the repair yard. The deckhouses meet the requirements of the classification societies. i. damen.com

Survitec’s Halo Lifejacket Awarded Etso Approval Halo, Survitec’s new passenger lifejacket solution for helicopter transfer, has received European Technical Standard Order (ETSO) approval certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This approves it for use as a helicopter constant-wear lifejacket for operations to and from helidecks located in hostile sea areas. In addition, the bespoke Survitec Emergency Breathing System (EBS) has been approved to EN 4856 and is fully compatible with the Halo Passenger lifejacket. Integral to Halo’s design is the performance technology built into the lifejacket’s sculpted bladder to significantly increase the in-water safety of the user. i. survitecgroup.com

FLIR Introduces M300 Series Marine Cameras FLIR Systems has launched the FLIR M300 Series, a new generation of maritime thermal cameras designed for the most demanding professional mariners and first responders operating in the harshest marine environments. The series facilitates safer navigation through improved image stabilisation using an integrated attitude heading reference system (AHRS) sensor, providing captains with a steady view in rough seas. The dual M364C and M364C LR sensors offer mariners greater awareness via FLIR’s patented Colour Thermal VisionTM (CTV) technology. This multispectral imaging technology blends thermal and high-definition visible colour video for enhanced identification of buoys, vessels, and other targets at night. i. flir.com
