Lambretta Spagna Eibar and Serveta As for others Italian motorcycle firms, Innocenti decided to manufacture Lambretta in Spain establishing a company called “Lambretta Locomociones SA” with its head office in Eibar. The manufacture started in 1954 with 125 D-LD models whichdirectly come from the Italian models. The only relevant aesthetic change made on these model was the use of bigger seats than the ones used on the same Italian models. A more complex intake system was put on LD models in order to better purify the air which goes to the carburettor. In 1960 began the manufacture of the LI 2 series, with 3 different kinds of swept volume. These series have a distinctive rotating mudguard and in 1964 the LI 3 scooter line was introduced. At the beginning of the production the third series was manufactured on the Italian model and so these two models were identical. Then, after the shutdown Italian factory, this series has been widely changed in different versions which are hardly recognizable. In order to simplify the identification of these scooters I have grouped these alterations in three different series. The first version, manufactured in the 1970s, is characterized by the pannier in which there was the air box, the grey rubber floor mats without holds/ strips, and the headlight with three fixing screws. The second series, called 80 series, is recognizable for the squared seat, the fiberglass mudguard, the pannier put in the shield, the black floor mats and the simplified intake system. The third series, called Lince, can be recognized for the fiberglass front shield, for the plated badges on the side panels. The second manufactured of this series has a big frame on the handle bars and a rectangular rear light. The latest manufacture of 1986 can be recognized for the use of the original light and the petrol valve on the footboard.
