The Power of Prayer

One of Marble’s longtime prayer traditions is the Good Friday Prayer Vigil, 1:00-3:00pm, hosted by the Marble Prayer Ministry. This is a place “where two or three are gathered” to pray for members and friends of Marble, including requests from the Peale Center/OurPrayer. Prayer has been the focus of our Lenten journey this year at WeWo and through Small Groups studying Listen: Praying in a Noisy World by Bishop Rueben P. Job. We invite you to continue that journey and join us to give the gift of prayer to those in need. Come when you can, leave when you wish. It is also a wonderful opportunity to request prayers for your family, friends and yourself. Complete a Good Friday Prayer Request card available at the 29th Street Reception Desk or Welcome Table and return by Palm Sunday. Of course, Marble is always a praying community! Please see page 6 for reflections from the Marble Prayer Ministry and mark your calendar now for their annual Prayer Intreat, Saturday, June 27, 10:00am-2:00pm, in the Labyrinth Room. Details will be available later this spring.

Easter Offering 2015

Help us overflow the Easter Egg Thermometer! This year’s goal is $225,000, $21,000 more than last year, 100% of which will be given to carefully vetted non-profits that feed the hungry, house the homeless, create opportunity for vulnerable children, and build bridges of understanding. Whether you can give $1, $10, $250, $1500 or more, let’s all join together to express God’s love and make a difference in our neighborhood, city and world. •Use an Easter Offering envelope found in the pew racks or at reception desk, and place it in the offering plate or mail it to the church. •Give via our secure website: www.MarbleChurch.org (click on Give/Give to the Easter Offering). •Simply write “Easter Offering” on your check or a regular Offering Envelope.
