FILM SCREENINGS

This year, we are showing some of the most popular long and short format films of the last decade, and a couple of new additions we wanted to share. Stop by the screening room in South Hall Upper Level to see the schedule and revisit an old favorite, or just enjoy a break from the action.

Friday | 5:30 p.m. SCREENING OF REGENERATIVE RENEGADES & PANEL DISCUSSION

Justin Halstead, Matt Maier Moderated by Alan Lewis Join us as we screen Regenerative Renegades, a film collaboration from our friends at Natural Grocers and Thousand Hills. Learn how producers improve soil health and sequester CO2 by returning the animals to the land in a managed way. Dig into the research and the collective consciousness behind a unique group of ranchers that make up the resilient, regenerative, renegade way at Thousand Hills. By working with nature and not against it, they have found a renewed joy in farming and a method that renews the land and our planet’s health. Regenerative Renegades gives us a clear choice when choosing beef—through our consumer dollars, we can choose to continue down the path of depletion, or we can support agriculture that regenerates the land, combats climate change, and improves our economic vitality. Justin Halstead has been on a mission to educate on health and sustainability using the power of story. He produced, directed, and edited “Regenerative Renegades.” Justin has filmed, lived, and worked in organic and regenerative systems in the United States, New Zealand, Germany, and the UK. Matt Maier was raised on a multi-species farm near Clearwater, MN. After a 15-year career working in conventional food marketing, he returned to the family farm and now is the owner and Chief Regenerative Renegade of Thousand Hills. Alan Lewis navigates government affairs and food and agriculture policy for Natural Grocers, a Colorado based health food chain founded in 1955 with over 160 stores in 20 states.
