CELEBRATION OF MATHEMATICS WEEK -
Mathematics
14TH to 18TH AUGUST
MATHS IN ACTION - MATHEMATICAL QUIZZES The winners of Mathex Quizzes have to combine solving problem skills with athletics ability. The event is a relay race where the baton change is the correct answer to a mathematical brain The four teaser. students in each team work together on a problem. "The runner" then dashes, at top speed, with their answer, to the marker. A correct answer means a score of 5 points and another question. If they are wrong they can try again or "pass". Imagine 14 teams doing this accompanied by the loud encouragement of their supporters.
During Mathematics Week, scho throughout the country make sp efforts to promote the study Mathematics by providing competiti and activities. This year, we publis two questions everyday in the d notices, one an estimation problem [H many jellybeans in a jar?] and one calculation problem.
