What languages do we share? What languages could we share? Poet Ali

“European Day of Languages”

“My name is not Refugee”

The words that follow are worth reading and deserve some profound reflection. As we are all part of a global community, our individual behaviour and attitudes no longer impact only ourselves, but also resonate and affect those around us. It’s time we become aware of our individual power and how we can change the collective – be it our school, our local community or the world. Cristina Tomé

• “I believe that being a minority is one of the most important languages you can ever learn. • At some point in our life, we’ll all be in that position of compromise and at some point we’ll all be in that position of power. • If you can tap into how you felt when you were that minority, how you handled that power, it will be an immense gift that you can give to the world.”

Poet Ali

In “The most important language you will EVER learn” TEDxOrangeCoast

• “There is a lot of anger in the world. • People see a lot of wealth and inequality has got worse. • The only solution is to invest in social cohesion. • We need to make each group feel like its identity is respected. • We need a world where difference is respected. • It is a mistake to think harmony just happens spontaneously.”

António Guterres

(Secretary General of the United Nations)
