Meet the Directors

Flyer Cattle Company is a family farm consisting of Brent, Corrine, Cooper and Langley Blaine. They calve out 85 cows, consisting of 40 purebred and 45 Hereford influence females who are bred to a black bull. Brent was a director of the MHA for 14 years and was president for three years.

Brent and Corrine published the Hereford Connection for 12 years, twice annually in February and September. The newsletter has gone from being published in black and white to now being printed in colour.

Brent has been organizing the Good as Gold Sale for ten years along with Corrine, Cooper and Langley’s help.

2020 MHA Stewardship Award-Jackie Mitchell

Jackie, who’d never had anything to do with cattle in her life prior to her marriage to Wally in 1990, soon became actively involved in the cattle industry, helping out at the Manitoba Livestock Expo and various MOE shows, as well as helping with the show cattle.

In the mid 1990’s, she joined the Manitoba Hereford Association acting as Secretary-Treasure for a number of years and later became the first woman is Canada to be a president of a Provincial Hereford Association. She also managed and produced the Hereford Newsletter for many years, as well as managing the MHA Good as Gold Sale for approximately ten years prior to turning it over to Brent and Corrine Blaine.

She has been actively involved in three Hereford Bonanza’s during the past 20 years, and is looking forward to helping out with Bonanza 2020.
