DNA

The lab will now be assessing a fee for loose hair samples received in hair sample envelopes. To avoid these new charges, please be sure to TAPE the hair shafts directly to your DNA application, leaving the roots accessible.

Don’t get caught waiting for DNA!

If you’ve got animals entered in sales in the new year, collect those DNA samples for any ETs, sires or ‘dams of AI sires’ right away! Be sure to allow a minimum of 4 weeks at the lab for DNA results. Applications are easily available through your online log-in under “Requests”. You can print these immediately to send with the samples!

• All natural sires and donor dams require DNA on file

• All AI sires must be fully parentage verified to both parents

Tattoos

Take a look in the ears. All animals must have a clear and distinct tattoo. If you have a tattoo that is not satisfactory, contact the CHA office for Permission to Re-tattoo. Do not add to or alter a tattoo without contacting the CHA office.
