2021 Korea World Food Championship
Our proud Songgokians of the Culinary Science Department won the cooking contest in 2021.

At the 2021 Korea World Food Championship, four groups of Songgokian contestants won: one group for the first prize (the best school), two groups for the second prize, and another group for the third prize. They participated in the third section of the live competition of the contest.


The contest has been famous for its nationwide scale among many other cooking contests in Korea. The Korean Cooks Federation, Cooking Skills Promotion Association, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA), and 19 other government agencies supported and sponsored the championship every year.
The contest for Songgokians opened at our school because of the problematic Covid-19 situation. Under the training of chef Kim Dongki, a professional with the Korea chef team, and chef Jo Min-jun, who was with a restaurant of Michelin two stars. The Songgokian participants made themselves super rookies to blow a fresh breeze in the cooking field in Korea because they presented high-class appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. They had trained themselves at the cooking lab in after-school classes every week for two months.
