Greater Manhattan Economic Partnership GMEP, a collaborative economic development partnership between the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and Pottawatomie County Economic Development Corporation, engaged Avalanche Consulting from Austin, TX to assist with developing a strategic marketing plan. They determined our economic development targets as:
Corteva Announcement Through the help of the Greater Manhattan Economic Partnership, Corteva Agriscience determined the Wamego Industrial Park to be the right fi t for their 22,000 sq. ft. building. Corteva Agriscience is a major American agricultural chemical and seed company and was the agricultural unit of DowDuPont.

Workforce Over a dozen Eisenhower middle school students visited local businesses as part of Career Exploration Days. They toured 502, CivicPlus and Olsson.
The Chamber’s Classroom-to-Career program paired its fourth grade classes with sponsoring businesses. A record 33 classrooms learned more about a local business and our region throughout the school year.

GMEP will be transitioning its building and site database to the LocationOne platform. LocationOne, owned by Evergy, is the primary site used by the State of Kansas. GMEP is partnering with Headlight Data on a new site for metro and local data with more than 100 data points updated monthly.
