As Rotarians, we often hear the phrase "Service Above Self" being thrown around. But what does it really mean to be a Rotarian? Let me break it down for you in a simplified yet impactful way - being a Rotarian is like being a superhero, but with a lot more meetings.
Think about it. Just like a superhero, a Rotarian is someone who is dedicated to making their community a better place. They have a strong moral compass, and they're not afraid to take action when they see something that needs fixing. And, of course, they wear capes... okay, maybe not capes, but you get the idea.
But being a Rotarian isn't all fun and games. It's a serious commitment to helping others, and it requires a lot of hard work and dedication. It means attending meetings, fundraising, organizing events, and sometimes even getting your hands dirty in service projects.

But the beauty of being a Rotarian is that you never have to do it alone. You have a whole community of like-minded individuals who are just as passionate about making a difference as you are. And when you work together, the impact you can make is truly incredible. So, if you ever feel overwhelmed by the commitments of being a Rotarian, just rememberyou're a superhero with a support team. And, as with any superhero team, there's always room for a bit of humor and fun.
If everyone shines a little light in the darkness, the combination of shining lights will soon overcome the darkness. Let your light shine!
