The Gift of Life
PAEDIATRIC HEART SURGERY

I n 1 9 7 2 w o r l d w i d e R o t a r y International initiated - THE GIFT OF LIFE PROGRAM, with its primary purpose to help those needy children who required corrective heart surgery secure another lease on life through the miracle of open-heart surgery in a Gift of Life Participating Hospital. In India this program started in 2002.
RCBK has been supporting these programs from many years now.

The worst situation for any parents, is when their child can be saved by medical intervention, and they can't afford it.
That is the story of 5-year-old lovely girl Ayushi Jha, born with a congenital heart malformation, requiring surgical correction. So, when Ayushi's father Amit Jha a security guard with Vishnu Shivam Tower, approached Rtn Prashant Mishra, resident of the tower, he immediately sprung into action. Rtn Prashant Mishra connected with ever approachable Rtn Deepa Goenka and DG Rtn Dr Rajendra along with two other club's donations within no time the young Ayushi was operated at Jerbai Wadia Hospital. RCBK is thankful to Rtn Balmohan Aggarwal for his support, without whom this would not have been possible. It is long term goodwill of Rotary District Champions and its association with Wadia Hospital, that Ayushi Jha got her Gift of Life – so now with a strong heart she is ready to mark her place in this lovely world. Well for RCBK it is just one more smile added…… one more life saved.

A child's vision can change often, and unexpectedly, from ages 6 to 18. Vision problems left uncorrected can be responsible to impaired child development, interfere with learning, cause behavioural and attention issues, and can also lead to permanent vision loss.
