About Cyprus At the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea, from sumptuous coastline to mountainous interior, Cyprus is an island steeped in contrasts: lively resort to monastic serenity, cacophonous street life to ageless village silence, Greek temple to Byzantine hermitage, Neolithic dwelling to luxury hotel. Cyprus is an island for all seasons: with its short, mild winter and mountain snow, the glorious swathes of spring-time flora, the deep, burnishing heat of summer, and the mellow warmth of the island’s long autumn.

Itinerary

An Open-Air Museum Cyprus has a rich history and due to its strategic position in the Mediterranean has been invaded by the Greeks, Persians, Romans, Phoenicians, Normans, Venetians, Turks and British to name but a few. Below we suggest a fly-drive itinerary which covers some of what the island offers. Feel free to alter to suit your preferences. We are here to guide and advise. Day one Arrive Larnaca or Paphos Airports, collect your car and drive to The Library Hotel in Kalavasos - Overnight at The Library Hotel on bed and breakfast.

Aphrodite’s Temple, 12 or so Kilometres from Nea Paphos and the modern city and resort. In antiquity, Paphos was the birthplace of Aphrodite the goddess of love - overnight Annabelle Hotel, Paphos on bed and breakfast.

Day two In the morning visit the Neolithic World Heritage site of Khirokitia and the excavations at Tenta. We suggest lunch in a fish taverna at Zygi and on to explore Larnaca, the island’s third largest city and site of Hala Sultan Tekke, the burial place of Umm Haram, Mohamed’s wet-nurse and the third holiest shrine for Muslims overnight Library Hotel on bed and breakfast.

Day six Explore modern, Pano and Kato Paphos within which area lies ancient Nea Paphos, the tombs of the Kings and the remarkable and world famous mosaics of the Houses of Dionysos, Theseus and Aion. Paphos is like an open-air museum and a world Heritage site - overnight Annabelle Hotel on bed and breakfast.

Day three Drive west to visit the ruins of the kingdom of Ancient Amathus, dating from 1,000 BC and then on to Limassol, the island’s second largest city. Spend the day exploring the city and especially the old town - overnight Library Hotel on bed and breakfast. Day Four A day spent exploring the traditional villages of Lefkara, Drys, Vavla, Skarinou and Vasa and then on to the Troodos mountains or head for Nicosia, the island’s capital to visit the archeological museum, the old town and Green Line dividing the south from the Turkish occupied north - overnight Library Hotel on bed and breakfast. Day five Drive to Paphos with a stop at the Knight Hospitalers’ Kolossi Castle and on to the spectacularly located Hellenistic and Roman city of Curium (Kurion) followed by a visit to the World Heritage site of Palea Paphos and

8

Day seven The area between Paphos and Polis on the north coast boasts several very interesting monasteries in very picturesque locations which are well worth visiting like Aghios Neophytos and Panayia Chrysorrogiatissa. There are also some very interesting villages in the mountains above Paphos. Alternatively, drive along the coast to the Akamas National Park and stop off for a swim at one of the many beaches along the coast - overnight Annabelle Hotel on bed and breakfast. Day eight After breakfast, depending on the time of your return flight, time for some shopping or relaxing by the pool before driving to the airport.

Prices from £769 per person (Based on LGW - LCA flights in May with Norwegian, and entry level room types at the accommodations. Group A1 car included).

Itinerary

For Walkers & Nature Lovers Cyprus is not only a sun and beach destination. The mountains are heavily forested with pine and cedar and their villages untouched by tourism. The Akamas National Park is a virtually unblemished Mediterranean landscape, much the same now as it was two thousand years ago. The itinerary below covers what we feel you should see and experience. You don’t have to walk everywhere, after all you do have a car. You can mix driving through the landscapes with walking to suit your preferences. The suggested walks are not difficult. All are grade one or two and suitable for all adults of fair to good fitness levels. A guide to the trails which are all waymarked will be supplied with your booking confirmation. Day one Arrive at either Larnaca or Paphos Airports, collect your car and drive to the Latchi area overnight at the beachfront Aphrodite Beach Hotel on bed and breakfast. We would always recommend lunch or evening meals are taken here as the cooking is homely and traditional.

four hour picturesque route. Make an early start because, on the way you should stop to visit forestry station at Stavros Tis Psokas (1,000 metres above sea level) and the most famous of the Cypriot monasteries, Kykkos - overnight at Casale Panayiotis in Kalopanagiotis on bed and breakfast.

Day two Spend the morning at the beach below the hotel and after lunch drive to Neo Chorio (about 15 minutes) to follow the circular 5km (2 hour) Smigies Trail through the Akamas Forest for some spectacular views - overnight Aphrodite Beach Hotel on bed and breakfast.

Day six Two walks today, so make an early start. One starts from the village, the Kalopanagiotis to Oikos Village linear trail 4km (1.5 hours). This includes visiting the church of Aghios Ioannis Lambadistis a listed UNESCO World Heritage site. Then drive to Troodos Square (45 minutes) to walk the Atalanti circular trail (14km 4 hours) through some of the most ancient forests of Black Pine and Troodos Juniper (one Juniper is 800 years old) with some spectacular views. After such an energetic day we would recommend dinner back at your hotel - overnight Casale Panagiotis on bed and breakfast.

Day three Make an early start and drive to the Baths of Aphrodite (10 minutes from the hotel) and either take the circular 7.5km (3 to 4 hour) Adonis Trail or the similar length Aphrodite Trail. Both trails explore different aspects of the Akamas National Park. We suggest lunch at a fish taverna in nearby Latchi Harbour and the afternoon relaxing on the beach - overnight Aphrodite Beach Hotel on bed and breakfast. Day four There are several interesting villages to explore in this northwest region Like Droushia, Neo Chorio, Kathikas and Arodes to name but a few. All are between 15 and 45 minutes’ drive from the hotel and all have good local tavernas for lunch. There is also a very interesting coastal drive through the town of Polis to Pyrgos which will take about two hours - overnight Aphrodite Beach Hotel on bed and breakfast. Day five Drive from Latchi through the Paphos and Troodos ranges on forestry roads to the mountain village of Kalopanagiotis - a three to

Day seven There are some delightful twisting drives through interesting villages in the Troodos mountains and there are four more UNESCO World Heritage site, ancient churches which should not be missed : Archangelos, Aghios Nikolaos Tis Stegis, Panagia Tis Podythou and, the best of them all, Panagia Forviotissa in Asinou. Day eight Drive to either Larnaca or Paphos Airports for your flight home.

Prices from £593 per person (Based on LGW - LCA flights in May with Norwegian, and entry level room types at the accommodations. Group A1 car included)

Stella Maris, Pomos Here the volcanic rocks of the Paphos mountains meet the crystal blue sea, an escarpment of craggy black cliffs is formed. Before this spectacular backdrop is this fully refurbished and private villa with its own pool and spectacular views along the dramatic coastline.

Where the volcanic rocks of the Paphos mountains meet the crystal blue sea, an escarpment of craggy black cliffs is formed. There are 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, 2 twins on the ground floor with a shared bathroom and a double with en-suite bathroom on the first floor. The large air-conditioned lounge opens onto a large terrace with panoramic views. The surrounding olive and citrus trees (orange and lemon) as well as the adjoining plantation producing vegetables enable the restaurant to offer healthy meals, whilst the coffee shop serves various home produced herbal teas.

Set right on a long stretch of sand and shingle beach, there is an uninterrupted view of the sea to the north and the foothills to the Troodos mountain range to the south. Ayii Anargyri, near Miliou It was in the late eighties that we first featured the Ayii Anargyri which was then a small secluded hotel. The building was formerly a monastery and was established by two monks in 1649. Realising the healing properties of their water, they generously offered free treatment and accommodation to many. Situated in a lush and peaceful setting, this (now adults only) boutique hotel is some 8 miles south of Polis and approximately one mile below the attractive village of Miliou. To quote from our old brochure, ‘surrounded by hills in a quiet green and fertile valley, the location has an almost timeless Biblical quality; here you can feel as if you are stepping into another world’. The owners of this former monastery have sensitively renovated and expanded the old monastery to create a unique hotel of 56 rooms and suites and a luxury spa. The construction is in natural stone and timber, retaining the traditional Cypriot architectural style. Guests patronising the Ayii Anagyri will enjoy the modern amenities as well as the beneficial properties of the mineral waters and the numerous amenities for wellness and fitness offered at this resort.

Paphos Region

Like its fabulous Roman mosaics, the region of Paphos is composed of contrasting colours and elements. For some, it may be a place of beaches, dark golden sand and the warmest of seas, of nightclubs, spa hotels and harbour strolls; for others, a place of beautiful mystery, of ancient sites, fallen monuments, village hideaways, secret catacombs and Byzantine hermitages. Renowned for their generosity and love of good times, the locals stay true to the spirit of Aphrodite, their goddess from the sea. Within Paphos itself, so tourist-friendly

Alasia Hotel, Limassol We have worked with the Alasia Hotel since we started operating to Cyprus in 1970. This is one of the classic hotels of Cyprus and is personally run by Nicos Thrassivoulou and his wife and family. It is an owner-managed hotel par excellence and probably our favourite hotel on the island. Nicos’s father was one of the best known hoteliers on Cyprus and ran the Forest Park in its 1950’s heyday. The hotel has been closed for two years for renovation and has been transformed from a traditional establishment to a modern, bright, comfortable hotel, beautifully designed and furnished in light colours and fabrics. There are 60 twin or double bedded rooms including Junior Suites and a one bedroomed executive suite with jacuzzi. Space is created by movable partitions which seemingly bring the well tended gardens and pool into the hotel space. There is an intimate spa with a full range of treatments.

The old port of Limassol, with its many restaurants and tavernas, is within a kilometre, as is the main Limassol shopping centre. Limassol town beach is a ten minute drive. The Alasia is a terrific, comfortable base from which to explore the island.

Antony’s Garden House, Episkopi Built in the mid 19th century and preserving its original character, this house is much appreciated by lovers of old Cyprus and those who want a peaceful base surrounded by flowers and trees. A short flight of steps leads up from the street through a high archway to an open reception and friendly bar. This is the old house comprising 3 large rooms with impressive and lofty arches - in bygone days used as stabling for camels. These are now the breakfast room (buffet breakfast), TV room/lounge with full size snooker table and split level family room with one double and two single beds, kitchenette with fridge and microwave and bathroom with bath. The house looks onto a really spacious courtyard full of mature shrubs and trees, notably two magnificent Cypress trees with colourful bougainvillea climbing through them. At the end of the courtyard is a newer wing on two floors, providing further bedrooms, discreetly built, which blend well with

Larnaca Region

Within easy reach are so many of the elements that characterise Cyprus: splendid beaches, a diverse and historic town, exceptional archaeological sites and a smattering of picturesque stone villages that seem to have grown organically from the land. A morning on the beach, lunch in the shade of a village taverna, an afternoon’s exploration of a Byzantine monastery, rounded off with an evening stroll along a palm-fringed promenade and a dinner of freshly caught fish. Perfect.

A distinctly Levantine air graces Larnaca Town, with its maze of back-streets, mosques and chapels, and exuberant sea-front. On the outskirts, the commanding 18th century Kamares Aqueduct is now but a monument to

Troodos Mountains 62

Troodos Mountains

A region of tranquil valleys and vaunting peaks, of remote villages and painted churches, the heavily-forrested Troodos Mountains are a lyrical counterpoint to modern urgencies. Calm and spacious, snow-tipped in winter, flower-decked in spring and fruit-filled in autumn, it’s a place to linger and dream, to wander and reflect. In the height of summer, its coolness beckons: hiking trails, cherry blossom, the crested hoopoe, frescoes, waterfalls and vine-covered tavernas.

Away from the coast, the roads twist and

New Helvetia, Platres This is an attractive, older style hotel, only a few minutes’ walk from the heart of the village and managed by the same family since 1929. The hotel has been approved by the EU as a historic building. Situated in a secluded corner of the village amidst pine trees, this is an ideal hotel for peace and tranquillity. There are 39 rooms, suites, selfcatering studios and a restaurant. The staff can arrange horse riding, fishing, tennis and swimming. For those who wish to venture further afield, the hotel has become something of a ‘bike hire’ centre and designated trail maps to explore the surrounding area can be obtained at the hotel reception. Sunvil, Cyprus and Responsible Tourism Tourism has the enormous potential to benefit local communities, their economies and the environment. However, we must not forget that the travel industry can also have a negative impact on its destinations if not properly managed.

At Sunvil we are passionate about the areas in which we specialise and the local people with whom we work. We therefore feel that it is our responsibility to help minimise any adverse effects. To achieve this, we have established close relationships with our destinations (including Cyprus, which we have featured since 1973) and work alongside our local agents and host communities to develop a sustainable and culturally sensitive tourism industry that aims to bring long-term social, economic and environmental benefits. In addition, we believe that it is our responsibility to learn about and respect the customs and culture of the destinations that we visit. In turn we aim to educate our clients and encourage them to participate and experience local life, thus providing a more enjoyable experience for the visitor. As a recognition of our commitment to Responsible Tourism, Sunvil has been awarded 5-stars by the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO). For more information on Sunvil’s Responsible Tourism policy, please visit our website www.sunvil.co.uk and select the heading ‘About Sunvil’.

w

Since 2010 the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative and the Travel Foundation have introduced a programme of initiatives designed to position Cyprus as a leader in responsible tourism. Together with the support of tour operators, including Sunvil, the programme aims to conserve and enhance the natural environment, promote the local culture and heritage, and to ensure that the maximum economic benefits from tourism stay in the destination and reach local people. Although most of the work is taking place behind the scenes what this means for the visitor is a greater visibility of local produce (Cypriot wine, cheese, handicrafts), a more authentic guest experience and peace of mind, in the knowledge that steps are being taken to conserve the heritage and landscape of this varied island.

Sunvil & Cyprus In Cyprus we use local suppliers and local representatives wherever possible, and encourage our suppliers, through many initiatives, to protect and treasure their environment. Examples of our work in Cyprus include: Featuring a wide selection of village based holidays and we encourage those living in the villages to take pride in their culture and heritage.

The promotion of the Village Routes fly-drive excursions. Six routes have been designed by the Travel Foundation: Limassol and the surrounding area, Orini and Larnaca, Farmagusta, Troodos Mountains, Pitsillia and Akamas National Park. Together with our accommodation suppliers, we are using Travelife to improve the sustainability of our holiday programme, We support the Paphiakos Animal Welfare organisation.

Climate Change & Carbon Offsets

The Travel Foundation is a UK charity that cares for the places we love to visit. Your holiday can make a real difference to your favourite destinations. It can help protect the natural environment, traditions and culture – the things that make your visit special. And it can improve the well-being of local families – so that more people benefit from your visit. All of which can make your holiday experience even better! Most importantly, it can help ensure that there are great places for us all to visit – for generations to come.

Although the science of climate change, in particular the overall impact of aviation, is not yet fully understood, it is generally accepted that the carbon dioxide (CO2) produced by aircraft fuel is contributing to climate change.

Sunvil, along with many other travel companies, is supporting the work of The Travel Foundation by donating 50p from every person booked to the charity and providing help in kind in the way of complimentary flights, accommodation and other services in order to help the workings of the charity.

The flights taken by Sunvil’s 30,000 customers generate about 12,000 tonnes of CO2 every year - around the same as 3,500 cars. One return flight to the Cyprus releases 0.6 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The UK is taking a lead in changing the way the world travels. For more information, please take a look at The Travel Foundation’s website at www.thetravelfoundation.org.uk

Since 2006, Sunvil has directly supported an offsetting project within the Retezat National Park in Romania, home to wolves, brown bear, wild boar, lynx, roe and red deer. For each client travelling with us we have donated 50p to the project, a total contribution of £51,818. This money has been invested in the installation of alternative energy systems (solar power) for the visitor centres, community centres and information points.

Paphiakos Animal Welfare Paphiakos Animal Welfare is a non-profit organisation and the only one in Cyprus that aims to provide free rescue, emergency and medical care for every animal in distress or in need of help.

The project in the Retezat National Park has now come to a close, and we are currently looking for a new offset project to support in one of our destinations. In the meantime, we are saving 50p per client to invest as soon as our decision is made.

Its monthly magazine, What’s Happening? can be found in Sunvil’s villa information packs, is available via Angela (Sunvil’s Manager in Cyprus) or from Paphiakos itself, at No 12, Dedalos Building, 8049 Kato Paphos (tel 26 946 461).

We know that carbon offsetting is not the total answer but, we have to make a start somewhere and, hopefully, from these small steps there will be a positive knock-on effect which will go some way towards safeguarding the planet.

The organisation’s work, master-minded by founder Christine Panayiotou and a whole host of helpers (many volunteers), is impressive. Cats, dogs, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats and even rabbits – in fact, any animal in need of assistance – are all checked by a team of four vets, fed, watered, groomed and neutered if necessary. Then the challenge is to find them new homes.

Sunvil Holidays is an industry partner of the Travelife Sustainability System, a scheme designed to address the adverse social and environmental impacts of the tourism industry. Each property within our Cyprus brochure has been asked to complete a self-assessment audit and to adopt Travelife as the tool for managing their sustainable business practices.

Do visit Paphiakos to see the excellent work it is doing, and stop for a cup of tea, cake and a varied menu of home-made goodies at the adjacent T-Rooms, the profits from which go to support animal care. If you find an animal in trouble, you now know where to take it! The centre is open from 7 am to 7 pm and has a 24-hour emergency rescue service. Please donate whatever you can to this wonderful charity to help it continue its considerable work – it relies entirely on the support of the caring public.

General Information The following notes (pages 74-75) are to be used in conjunction with our Booking Conditions (page 79) and with the price panels. Please take the time to read them. If you do not, we cannot be held responsible for any misapprehensions you may have about our holidays. Information contained in this brochure may change between its publication and a booking by a customer. You will be told of any changes when booking. Sunvil is a fully bonded operator. We are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL 808) for all air based holidays in this brochure. All non-air travel arrangements (e.g. accommodation or ground arrangements only) conform to the bonding requirements of The Travel Association (ABTA). Complete financial protection is thus assured. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, these organisations will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid us in advance. For further information visit the CAA (www.atol.org.uk) and ABTA (www. abta.co.uk) websites. What your Holiday Price Indication Includes Flights as confirmed at time of booking. Private transfers on arrival and departure (there may be a supplement for single persons travelling on their own), or car hire from the airport where included in the holiday cost; accommodation as detailed (see relevant resort pages); services of our local representative (where applicable); all airport taxes/ security charges and VAT known at time of printing. Does not include Charge (if any) for airconditioning. Travel insurance; surcharges, if applicable (see Booking Conditions); flight supplements, if applicable. A charge of 2% if payment is made by Credit/Charge Card. This charge may increase should the credit card companies increase their charges to Sunvil. The charge will be quoted at the time of booking. A car collection charge of €20 paid locally at Paphos and Larnaca airports. Non-Standard Holidays Our holidays can be very flexible. Some of the most popular arrangements are the following: Multi-centres Most of the holidays offered can be combined. To arrive at a very rough two week, two centre holiday price, add together the two week single centre prices in each case and divide by two, adding an extra £50 per person to cover the additional administration costs and transfers between centres. Then double check with us. There may be added complications and extra charges! Food packs in villas and village houses are not provided at the second centre. Tailor-made holidays For holidays of a longer duration and more complex nature, please ask us for a quotation. We can also arrange flights for one person and accommodation for two, a week in a villa/hotel and a week without accommodation but with a car, varying durations for different members of your party, etc. Accommodation only Most properties are also available on an “accommodation only” basis. Children’s discounts do not apply to accommodation only arrangements. Local Representatives Please remember that wherever you are, our representatives can always be contacted by phone should a problem arise. They may not necessarily visit you or contact you in every location. For local information, hotel managers, owners and receptionists are often only too keen to help you. Any problems you experience must be reported locally so that we are given the opportunity of solving them. Our

74

programme in Cyprus includes several far flung locations where we can never guarantee a visit from a representative.

Hotel Accommodation Room furnishings In most cases, rooms are furnished with twin beds. When a double bed is requested, we pass the preference to the hotel. Most hotels do have some rooms with double beds - if they do not, they can usually successfully push two single beds together. We can never guarantee that a double bed will be provided. In villas, soap, hand and bath towels are provided, but not beach towels - please take your own. Balcony and sea view Nearly all hotel rooms have a balcony or terrace. Sea view can be guaranteed only where a supplement is charged. Three bedded rooms Three bedded rooms are available in all hotels but, as they are often twin rooms with an extra bed, they may be rather cramped. We cannot be held responsible if you find the room too crowded. Single rooms Single rooms are sometimes smaller. They are also difficult to book in August, September and October. In the low season you may well, however, have a twin for sole use, although it is very much the luck of the draw. Beach and sports facilities These usually have to be paid for locally. In the low season (generally November to April), not all outdoor facilities may be available. If you are holidaying in this period and you feel a particular facility is vital to the enjoyment of your holiday, please ask us to check with the hotel if it is available then. Hotel air-conditioning Where air conditioning is mentioned this is provided at the discretion of the management and may not necessarily operate 24 hours and every day.

Villa Accommodation Accommodation in this brochure has been selected with care. Villas and apartments are adequately equipped including fridges, cookers or cooker rings, cutlery and linen. Beach towels are not provided, so please take your own. Cleaning/linen change is done weekly. Access to villas and village houses will be after 3pm to allow for cleaning. Villas and village houses have to be vacated by 10am on day of departure. Remember, water is always scarce so please conserve it. Please note: private pools are freshwater, unheated and may not be in use between 15 November and 15 March. Villas and village houses are heated by either central heating, portable gas or paraffin stoves and/or log fires unless otherwise stated. Most air-conditioning systems in the bedrooms of little Villas with airconditioning are also heaters - please enquire. Access to properties must always be given to pool maintenance and gardening staff, otherwise standards cannot be maintained. Villas, Village Houses and Rural Locations Our villas and village houses are often located in rural areas. Indeed, for many people, this is one of their great attractions. However, having

open countryside nearby or a location within a working village, ‘friendly locals’ can include more than the village priest. Ants, lizards, wasps, spiders, fieldmice, snakes, field rats, etc., are not uncommon in Cyprus (after all, they were there first!) although no more numerous than anywhere else in the Mediterranean. So, if you or any of your party are likely to be squeamish about a possible visit from local wildlife, we recommend you check with us as to the suitability and location of your chosen accommodation before you book. Mechanical & Digital facilities These facilities rely on local networks and therefore service levels cannot be guaranteed. No compensation is payable if the service is not working and is awaiting repair. Other facilities, fixtures and fittings - including but not limited to, dishwasher, washing machine, swimming pool, lighting and air conditioning units may require servicing or repair. We cannot be held responsible for loss of use while repair is being undertaken. Internet and WiFi If accommodation has WiFi or broadband internet access this will be mentioned in the description. Please note, connections are sufficient for checking email and light web browsing. Bandwidth restrictions or extra charges may apply if the connections are used for downloading large files or streaming video content. WiFi is available in most main villages and many local cafes also advertise free connections. Please note that we cannot guarantee WiFi availability as this is dependent on local ISPs, technical issues etc. and this facility does not form part of our contract with you. Mobile Telephones Reception is often erratic and some locations are unsuitable for mobile telephones, so please check with us first. Photography The photographs in this brochure have been taken to show a property or resort area to its best advantage. Wide angle lenses are used for most room interiors, building exteriors and some beach/scenic shots. Most are taken off-peak so in high season the beaches will generally be busier than shown. When an interior or a view is shown, this is an indication only as not all rooms or views may be the same. Interior fixtures, fittings and furnishings may also vary from room to room, or the owner may have decided to change a certain piece of furniture or décor since the picture was taken. Exterior shots can also change. As we cannot re-photograph all properties and views every year, inevitably trees, bushes and shrubs can appear where previously there were none. Children and Infants Children under 12 years of age on the date of return qualify for reductions as follows:

Self Catering Villa Holidays and Village Houses A reduction of £25 per booking for the first child only. Additionally, don’t forget that children count towards the party size, so not only do they get a discount, they also reduce the basic holiday cost for everyone else. Many other operators do not follow this practice and you often find that each of four adults booking with Sunvil will cost less than two adults and two children booking with other operators.

Fly Drive Holidays Children’s reductions do not apply to fly-drive holidays.

Hotel Holidays Separate child reductions will be quoted for each hotel. Infants under 2 years of age on the date of return travel for a flat rate of £50. Cots should be requested on the booking form and are payable direct to the hotel (usually £3 to £5 per day, more usually free). All food, too, is payable locally. Child car seats may be pre-booked at an extra charge. Some charter carriers do not allow children under the age of 16 to fly alone. They must travel as unaccompanied minors. Please note: Cots and child car seats supplied locally may not meet British Safety Standards. Infants do not qualify for a seat on the aircraft, nor for any baggage allowance. Group Travel We are experienced in making arrangements for special groups and welcome genuine enquiries for affinity, conference, special interest and incentive travel. Passports, Currency, Pregnancy & Health The following information for UK visitors to Cyprus was correct at the time of going to press. It is, however, advisable to check a few weeks before departure as to whether any changes have taken place. Passports and Visas A FULL PASSPORT valid for at least 3 months from your date of return is required. Visas are not required for EU passport holders. In 2009, the UK Government began to implement its requirement for APIS (Advanced Passenger Information) data for all passengers travelling internationally into and out of the UK. We need to collect this information from all passengers on behalf of the carrier, which is legally required to collect this information and provide it as part of the check-in process. These details can be submitted confidentially and securely online via the e-borders section at http://mybooking.sunvil.co.uk/apis/login.asp If you do not have your passport details at hand, this information can be submitted at a later date. However, it must be submitted at least 10 days before departure. The information will be passed on directly to the relevant airline and kept for no more than 10 years by the British Government. It will be protected in keeping with the Data Protection Act and appropriate security controls will ensure it is not used or accessed incorrectly. It will be given only to organisations that are legally authorised to receive it and that need it to carry out their official duties. FCO Travel Advice Keep up-to-date with the latest UK Government Travel Advice as issued by the Foreign Office before you travel. This can be accessed by the Internet (www.fco.gov.uk/travel/) or BBC text services. As a responsible tour operator, Sunvil follows FCO advice – should it advise against non-essential travel to any of our destinations during a period in which you are booked to travel imminently, you may change or cancel your holiday with no penalty. Health and EHIC No inoculations or vaccinations are compulsory for UK residents, but the DHSS does recommend certain health precautions for travellers - see their leaflets SA40 and SA41 for details (obtainable from your local Dept. of Health office) or ask your doctor. Should you be taking any form of medication, take adequate supplies with you and carry them, as well as items like contact lenses, in your hand luggage only. For EHIC cards see insurance on page 78.

Currency There is no limit on how much currency you can take out of the UK. The local currency is the Euro. Foreign credit cards are widely accepted. You can also withdraw money from cash machines which are located at both airports and at many bank locations throughout the island. Cyprus is a full member of the European Union.

Clients with Disabilities We always do our best for our disabled clients but, very often, we do not have enough information as to the extent of the disability. If you are disabled, we need the details in writing so the accommodation providers can judge if they can meet your requirements. This may well take a little longer but will avoid disappointment.

Pregnancy If you are more than 28 weeks pregnant on the date of return travel, most airlines require a medical certificate of fitness to fly. If you are more than 32 weeks pregnant you will not normally be allowed to travel.

A Few Facts of Life We believe the information contained in this brochure is true and correct but it is essential that you read our descriptions most carefully to avoid making a wrong decision in your choice of resort. If you’re unsure of anything please ask to speak to someone from our office who has actually been to the area you are planning to visit. Our advice is impartial - we would rather lose you to another company than allow you to visit a resort completely unsuited to your needs. Having said that, we would also like to make our own position clear. Seasons change and so do resorts. What is ‘quiet’ in May can be crowded in August. Tourist facilities depend on the time of year, weather and/or demand. Please bear this in mind before booking as it impossible to qualify every statement on every page. Remember, too, that our prices tend to reflect these differences throughout the season.

Night Flights In accordance with international practice, reservations at all hotels are made from midday to midday. If a holiday is arranged using night flights, you will be charged for an additional night’s accommodation if the room or villa is required immediately on arrival. Payment and Ticket Despatch The balance of your holiday cost as detailed on your confirmation and account is due 8 weeks before departure. No reminders or statements are sent. We accept Access and Visa (but a *2% additional charge is made for their use) as well as cheques and debit cards. Tickets are sent approximately 10 days before departure. *Should credit card companies increase their charges to us this may well increase. You will be advised of the exact charge at the time of booking. Holidays Including Car Hire The type of car included in the price is determined by the number of persons in the party excluding infants. Please see page 77 for details. If a different type of car is required this can be arranged at a supplement. When included in the holiday price, car hire is booked from the airport. If you require the car to be delivered or collected from the accommodation there will be delivery and transfer charges. Should you feel there is inadequate room in the booked car group for your party and your luggage we can arrange for an additional taxi transfer either on arrival or departure or both. If you decide to amend the type of car you have booked after you have received your confirmation and account, a £25 per booking amendment fee will be charged. Amendments A fee of £25 per booking will be charged for each amendment to a confirmed booking to cover administration costs in addition to any charges made by airline or accommodation suppliers. In the case of a minor amendment (eg cancellation of a pre-booked hire car) this charge is per booking; in the case of a major amendment outside the 8 week period before departure (eg change of accommodation or resort) this charge is per person. For an alteration within 8 weeks of departure, we may treat the alteration as a cancellation of the original holiday (attracting cancellation charges) and regard it as a new holiday booking. Safety Standards and Regulations The safety standards and regulations in operation overseas are those of the country in question and may not reach the same level as those we enjoy in the UK The monitoring, enforcement and compliance with these local regulations is a matter for the authorities of that country and the foreign supplier of the services concerned. The general standards of safety and hygiene, fire precautions etc. may well be lower than in the UK Liability insurance requirements vary considerably from country to country, as does the responsibility placed on an organisation by local law. Please, therefore, take all precautions to protect yourself and your family whilst on holiday. In particular, you should familiarise yourself with hotel fire escape routes and always be aware of hidden dangers involving swimming pools, balconies and hotel lifts, especially if travelling with children.

If you visit a Mediterranean country (not only Cyprus) you must be prepared to accept the local way of life which, due to the climate, can be totally different from ours. Buses tend to run very early in the morning, shops and offices close in the afternoon for a siesta, and restaurants, bars and discotheques are usually noisier and open later than their British equivalents. There is more noise generally. Plumbing is rarely perfect, hot water can be unreliable and water itself is in short supply. Roads are largely unlit, often have no pavement and are unmade. Utility boards (water/electricity/ telephone) may dig roads up and leave them unprotected. So, if your accommodation is outside one of the towns, be prepared and take a torch! Please bear in mind too that life must go on buildings must be built, roads must be dug and children will play noisily in the streets. Paphos, Polis, Limassol and Larnaca are popular, growing resorts and building may be going on in the vicinity of your accommodation. We are not trying to dissuade you from travelling with us but just pointing out that you must take the rough with the smooth when you visit any foreign country with any tour operator. Despite the above, let us assure you that no one loves Cyprus more than we do. We are certain you will have the holiday of a lifetime but, if you do experience some niggles, try to show patience and understanding and gracefully accept that you cannot live as you would at home. Sunvil Brochure Prices As all our holidays to Cyprus are tailor-made, we have adopted a flexible, guide price policy for the prices in the brochure. The properties in the Polis and Akamas, Paphos Region and Limassol Region are based in the winter months on a scheduled British Airways’ flight from London Gatwick to Paphos. In the summer months they are based on Norwegian Airlines’ Gatwick to Larnaca service. The other regions are based on British Airways’ London Gatwick to Larnaca in the winter and Norwegian Airlines’ Gatwick to Larnaca in the summer. Prices are indications only and could be lower or higher on these or other days in the month, depending on prevailing accommodation rates and flight prices at the time of booking on any chosen departure day, holiday duration, preferred airline or departure airport.” Validity of Programme This brochure, published October 2013, is valid for departures from 1st November 2013 until at least 31st October 2015.

The Genevieve A unique vessel for your River Thames Charter Cruise Genevieve is a 40 foot beaver stern saloon launch, built by Taylor and Bates of Chertsey in 1914. Her hull planking is African mahogany and all topside and interior fittings are in teak. Back then, her selling price was £1,150! In 1998, she was found rotting away on a canal in Lancashire and Peter Freebody, owner of one of the foremost UK boatyards for renovating classic boats, was immediately taken in by her shape and decided she must be saved for future generations to enjoy. The extensive, painstaking renovation requested by Sunvil finished in May 2010. The launch is unique and very rare and she is Sunvil’s flagship. The saloon has bevelled windows and opening lights with port and starboard seating. She also has a spacious, canopied, forward cockpit with additional seating for approximately 10 people. Further aft is the cooler unit and storage, then the galley with a sink, gas hob and oven/grill, and the toilet locker is to port. There is an another small cockpit aft, with further seating. Genevieve is powered by a six cylinder Sea Prince petrol engine, smartly sited under a teak and glass engine case. In chilly weather, the engine supplies heat to the saloon and cockpit.

Application for a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) If you are a UK resident, you are entitled to medical treatment that becomes necessary, at reduced cost or sometimes free, when temporarily visiting a European Union (EU) country. Only treatment provided under the state scheme is covered. However, to obtain treatment you will need to take a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you. What is an EHIC? In line with EU rules, all EEA (European Economic Area) countries are issuing the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) as a replacement for the E111 form. The EHIC gives the holder rights to treatment that becomes medically necessary during a temporary visit to EEA (European Economic Area) countries or Switzerland. People who are ordinarily resident in the UK can apply for an EHIC. Each individual travelling requires a card. How long will my card last? An EHIC will last for up to 5 years. You must renew your card up to 6 months before its expiry date, or at any time after. The expiry date is printed on the front of your card. Who is entitled to an EHIC? Any person who is ordinarily resident in the UK, is eligible for an EHIC. However there are some restrictions depending on your nationality. Visit www.dh.gov.uk/travellers or pick up a copy of the “Health Advice for Travellers” booklet at the Post Office for further information. You must be over 16 years of age in order to apply. Residents of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are not eligible. Is there any charge for an EHIC? There is no charge. Why do I need an EHIC if I have travel insurance? The EHIC and holiday insurance are complementary and you are advised to have both. The EHIC does not cover some costs such as repatriation. Some insurance companies require you to have an EHIC and some companies will waive the excess charge if an EHIC has been used. What does the EHIC cover? The EHIC covers treatment provided by the state health care scheme in the country you are visiting. It does not cover repatriation costs.

Booking Conditions 1. Definitions These booking conditions, together with the General Information section in our brochures or on our website (depending upon how you make your booking), and any other document we brought to your attention before we confirmed your booking, form the basis of your contract with us, Sunvil International Sales Limited, registered number 984970. The signatory of the booking form accepts these contract terms on behalf of everyone named in the booking or added subsequently, and the words “you” in these conditions should be construed accordingly. 2. Booking (a) There will be no contract between us until you have signed a booking form for bookings not made ‘on-line’ and paid the required deposit and we have issued a Confirmation Invoice. For bookings which require ‘bought-in’ flights to be purchased by us a contract is deemed to exist once payment for these flights has been made. For website bookings, a contract is deemed to exist once an ‘on-line’ confirmation is issued by us. However, for bookings made within 56 days of travel (not in the case of website bookings), a contract shall be deemed to exist once you or your travel agent (the “Agent”) have made the booking “definite” by telephone and we have confirmed full holiday details, including a Booking Reference Number. If your confirmed arrangements include a flight, we (or if you booked via an authorised agent of ours, that agent) will issue you with an ATOL Certificate and a confirmation. Upon receipt, if you believe that any details on the ATOL Certificate or confirmation or any other document are wrong you must advise us immediately as changes can not be made later and it may harm your rights if we are not notified of any inaccuracies in any document within four days of our sending it out. (b) It is a condition of the contract that you will take out the travel insurance negotiated by us or an equivalent policy. Further information on travel insurance is in our brochure and on our website. (c)Any services purchased locally, even if these are arranged by our representative or agent, do not form part of this contract. 3. Payment (a) Any monies paid by you to the agent are held by the agent on behalf and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust at all times, but subject to the agent’s obligations to pay it to us for as long as we have not failed. In the event that we fail, any money held or subsequently accepted from the consumer by the agent is and continues to be held by that agent on behalf of and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust without any obligation to pay that money to us. (b) The balance of the price is payable not less than 56 days prior to departure date. If the balance has not been paid by 48 days prior to departure, the booking will be cancelled and the cancellation charges set out in Clause 7 will be levied. (c) Full payment will be due immediately for bookings made within 56 days of travel. (d) No reminders or statements will be sent. 4. Special Requests Special requests should be indicated on the booking form or requested in writing. We will try to arrange for special requests to be met, but cannot, and do not, guarantee that they will be unless a supplement is paid. Adding requests after booking may incur an administration charge. 5. Prices and Surcharges (a) Prices stated are general indications of the likely price. But they can vary. The price you are given at the time of booking is the price to be paid. (b) The price of your confirmed holiday is subject at all times to changes in transport costs including the cost of fuel, and any other airline cost changes which are part of our contracts with airlines (and their agents), cruise ship operators and any other transport provider; and to changes in the currency exchange used to calculate your arrangements; and to rates, dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports, any or all of which may result in a variation of your holiday price. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges and/ or additional services or travel arrangements. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of £2.00 per person together with an amount to cover agents’ commission. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your confirmed travel arrangements (excluding any insurance premiums, amendment charges and/or additional services or travel arrangements), you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid to us, except for any insurance premiums and any amendment charges and/or additional services or travel arrangements. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on your final invoice. There will be no change made to the price of your confirmed holiday within 30 days of your departure nor will refunds be paid during this period. We will consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums paid if you can show that you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy. Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your confirmed holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel due to contractual and other protection in place. 6. Alterations by You (a) A fee of £25 per booking for a minor change (e.g. cancellation of car hire) or £25 per person for a major change (e.g. name change, change of accommodation or change of dates to earlier or later in the season) to cover administration costs will be charged for each amendment requested more than eight weeks before departure to a confirmed booking. Any alteration requested within eight weeks of departure will be treated as a cancellation of the original holiday (attracting cancellation charges) and a new holiday booking. (b) If you are prevented from taking up your booking by illness, jury service, redundancy, unavoidable work commitment or the death or serious illness of a close family member, you may transfer your booking to another person acceptable to us provided that: (i) the transfer is requested in writing at least one week in advance of departure; (ii) the request is accompanied by documentary proof of the reason for the transfer, any tickets or vouchers already received from us, full details of the person who will take over the booking, any balance due for the booking and the appropriate administration fee which will be £25 per name-change, plus all charges of whatever nature levied by our suppliers. You should be aware that some suppliers, particularly airlines, may charge a 100% cancellation fee and the cost of a new ticket; and

(iii) the person taking over the agreement agrees to be bound by the booking conditions.

(b) You must observe the rules, if any, relating to the accommodation.

per person in total because you are assumed to have adequate insurance in place to cover any losses of this kind.

7. Cancellation by You (a) Should you wish to cancel the holiday, this must be done in writing to us. A written notification must be received by us by recorded or registered mail. No cancellation will be effective until such written notice is received by us. You will be liable to pay the following cancellation charges:

(c) You must vacate the accommodation in most areas by 10 am on the day of departure. There may be some exceptions and these will be advised locally by our representative, agent or accommodation provider. Check-in is normally available from 4 pm onwards subject to hotel management discretion.

(b) Claims not falling under (a) above and which don’t involve injury, illness or death The maximum amount we will have to pay you in respect of these claims is twice the price paid by or on behalf of the person(s) affected in total. This maximum amount will only be payable where everything has gone wrong and you or your party has not received any benefit at all from your booking.

Cancellation period charge before departure 49 days or more 48 - 29 days 28 - 22 days 21 - 15 days 14 - 8 days 7 - 0 days

Charge as a percentage of total invoiced cost Deposit only 30% 45% 60% 80% 100%

(b) We reserve our right to pass on to you any cancellation charges imposed by our suppliers which are in excess of the cancellation charges set out above. In particular, any “bought-in flight element” (i.e. that you are booked on non-standard Sunvil flights, scheduled or chartered, for which a higher deposit is required) will be charged at 100% cancellation fees for the flight. (c) Insurance premiums are non-refundable. (d) Should one or more members of a party cancel, it may increase the per person holiday price of those still travelling. Note: Certain arrangements may not be amended after they have been confirmed and any alteration could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements. 8. Alterations and Cancellation by Us (a) If we make a major alteration or cancel the holiday after the booking has been confirmed but before departure, you will have the choice of: (i) accepting the cancellation or alteration; (ii) taking another available holiday with us (if it is more expensive you must pay the difference, but if it is cheaper we will make an appropriate refund); or (iii) (in the case of a major alteration) cancelling the holiday and receiving a full refund. (b) A major alteration is a change of airport (except between airports serving the same city), a change of area, if this results in materially different facilities and/or anticipated experience, or a change to lower grade accommodation for a substantial part of the holiday. (Substantial means 25% or more of the nights spent in-country.) Any other change is a minor alteration. (c) If you decide to cancel because of a major alteration or if we cancel a holiday for any reason other than Force Majeure (please refer to clause 9) or Low Bookings (please refer to clause 8(d) below), we will pay compensation as follows: Period before scheduled departure when major alteration or cancellation is notified More than 56 days 56 - 29 days 28 - 14 days 13 - 0 days

Compensation per fare paying passenger Nil £20 £30 £40

Please note that compensation payments relating to a child place for which you have paid a child price are half the amounts shown (up to half the child price paid). There are no compensation payments payable to those travelling on “free child places”, “free group places” or infants. (d) Low Bookings is where an insufficient number of people have booked the arrangements to make their operation financially viable in the advertised form. We will never cancel a holiday because of Low Bookings less than 42 days before departure. (e) If there is a minor alteration, we will try to notify you, although we are not obliged to do so, nor are we liable to pay compensation. (f) If we become unable to provide a significant proportion of a holiday after it has commenced, we will make suitable alternative arrangements for you at no extra charge to you or, alternatively, arrange for you to be returned to your point of departure and to receive a pro-rata refund for any ground arrangements not received. In addition, if appropriate, we will pay you compensation of an amount which is reasonable taking into account all the circumstances. Compensation will not be considered appropriate, for example, in cases where a major alteration has to be made as a result of Force Majeure or Low Bookings. 9. Force Majeure – Circumstances Beyond our Control Except where we say differently elsewhere in these conditions, we cannot pay any compensation, reimburse expenses, or cover losses for any amount or otherwise accept responsibility if, as a result of circumstances beyond our control, we have to change your holiday after booking, or we, or our suppliers, cannot supply your holiday, as we, or they, had agreed, or you suffer any loss or damage of any description. When we refer to circumstances beyond our control, we mean any event that we, or the supplier in question, could not foresee or avoid, even after taking all reasonable care. Such circumstances will usually include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, airport closures, epidemic, natural or nuclear disaster, terrorist activity, civil unrest, industrial dispute, bad weather (actual or threatened), change to Foreign Office advice to advise against travel to destination and significant building work ongoing outside of your accommodation (such as resort development). 10. Overbooking In the very rare event of over-booking accommodation of which we are not aware before you depart, you will be offered alternative accommodation on arrival, which accommodation will be of a comparable standard if available. If the location and/ or facilities of the alternative accommodation can reasonably be considered inferior to that originally booked, we will compensate you by paying you the difference in price, if any, between the two properties plus compensation of up to 5% of the original holiday price. 11. Accurate Descriptions We make every effort to ensure that all resorts and accommodation offered in this brochure or website are described as accurately as possible and that all price indications are correct. Changes, however, can occur and we reserve the right to make changes, in which case you will be informed, of any price change and any material descriptive change, at the time of booking or on your subsequent Holiday Confirmation Invoice. You should bear in mind that certain facilities, particularly sports, entertainment and excursions, are subject to demand at any given time. It would not, for instance, be reasonable to expect an excursion to run unless there is demand which makes its operation economically viable. If a hotel is equipped with centrally controlled air-conditioning, the period and time of functioning of the system is at the discretion of the hotel management. 12. Accommodation (a) Accommodation which forms part of your booking may only be used by the persons named on the booking form. Subletting is not permitted.

13. Conduct, Injury and Damage (a) You shall behave properly throughout your holiday and, in particular, must not do or permit to be done anything which might lead to damage to any property, injury to any person, or vitiation of any contract of insurance. (b) You will use, occupy and enjoy the accommodation provided as part of your holiday with due care and in a proper manner without allowing the accommodation to become unreasonably soiled. No items, fixtures or fittings shall be removed from the accommodation or left outside at any time. (c) You will be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any lost, broken or damaged items, including lost keys. (d) You will treat and speak to our employees and representatives in a reasonable and civil manner. 14. Travel Delays and Flights (a) Flight times are provided by airlines and are subject to change owing to matters such as air traffic control restrictions, weather conditions and technical problems. Flight timings are therefore estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. As between you and any individual airlines, the airline’s standard conditions of carriage will apply. These may limit or exclude liability in accordance with relevant international Conventions. Copies of these Conventions are available from us on request.

(c) Claims in respect of international travel by air, sea and rail, or any stay in a hotel i) The extent of our liability will in all cases be limited as if we were carriers under the appropriate Conventions, which include The Warsaw/Montreal Convention (international travel by air); The Athens Convention (with respect to sea travel); The Berne/Cotif Convention (with respect to rail travel) and The Paris Convention (with respect to hotel arrangements). You can ask for copies of these Conventions from our offices. Please contact us. In addition, you agree that the operating carrier or transport company’s own ‘Conditions of Carriage’ will apply to you on that journey. When arranging transportation for you, we rely on the terms and conditions contained within these international conventions and those ‘Conditions of Carriage’. You acknowledge that all of the terms and conditions contained in those ‘Conditions of Carriage’ form part of your contract with us, as well as with the transport company and that those ‘Conditions of Carriage’ shall be deemed to be included by reference into this contract. ii) In any circumstances in which a carrier is liable to you by virtue of the Denied Boarding Regulation 2004, any liability we may have to you under our contract with you, arising out of the same facts, is limited to the remedies provided under the Regulation as if (for this purpose only) we were a carrier.

(b) If you or any member of your party misses your flight or other transport arrangement, it is cancelled or you are subject to a significant delay for any reason, you must contact the airline or other transport supplier concerned immediately.

iii) When making any payment, we are entitled to deduct any money which you have received or are entitled to receive from the transport provider or hotelier for the complaint or claim in question.

(c) The Package Travel etc Regulations 1992 provide that in the event that you experience difficulty on the occurrence of circumstances described in clauses 17 (2) (a) (b) (c) or (d) of these booking conditions, we will provide you with prompt assistance. Where you experience a flight delay or cancellation which is not owing to any failure by us, our employees or subcontractors, this prompt assistance is likely to extend to providing help in locating refreshments, accommodation and communications but not paying for them.

(4) It is a condition of our acceptance of liability under this clause that you notify any claim to ourselves and our supplier(s) strictly in accordance with the complaints procedure set out in these conditions.

(d) Under the Denied Boarding Regulation (EU 261/2004), if you have been denied boarding, your flight has been cancelled or it has been significantly delayed, it is the airline’s duty to look after you. This means providing food, drinks, and some communications. If you are delayed overnight, this also means a hotel and travel to and from it. Full details of these rights will be publicised at EU airports and will also be available from airlines. If the airline does not comply with these rules you should complain to the Civil Aviation Authority at www.caa. co.uk/passengerrights. We have no liability to you in these circumstances whatsoever and your claim for this assistance and any compensation must be made directly to the airline. Liability of an airline under EU 261/2004 will not entitle you to a refund of your holiday price from us. (e) We cannot accept liability for any delay which is due to any of the reasons set out in clause 9 of these booking conditions (which includes the behaviour of any passenger(s) or for any passenger who, for example, fails to check in or board on time). A delay or cancellation to your flight does not automatically entitle you to cancel any other arrangements even where those arrangements have been made in conjunction with your flight. However, you may be entitled to claim under the flight delay section of your travel insurance policy. (f) We have no control over how much leg room (seat pitch) airlines allow on their aircraft. No guarantee can be given as to a particular seat configuration on board as aircraft types vary. However, these seat pitches are standard throughout the airline industry and comply with current Civil Aviation Authority guidelines. (g) This brochure is our responsibility, as your tour operator. It is not issued on behalf of, and does not commit the airlines mentioned herein or any airline whose services are used in the course of your travel arrangements. 15. Suppliers’ Conditions Our third party suppliers have their own booking conditions and conditions of carriage, and you will be bound by these, so far as the relevant supplier is concerned. Our suppliers’ conditions will also apply to your contract with us, and in the event of any conflict between the suppliers’ conditions and our conditions, the suppliers’ conditions will prevail, save to the extent that any term in the suppliers’ conditions is deemed to be invalid or unenforceable, in which event our conditions will prevail. Some of our suppliers’ conditions may limit or exclude liability on the part of the relevant supplier, and, by virtue of their application to your contract with us, may also limit or exclude our liability to you, and they are often subject to international conventions. You can get copies of the relevant conditions if you ask us. 16. Our Liability 1) We will accept responsibility for the arrangements we agree to provide or arrange for you as an “organiser” under the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 as set out below. Subject to these booking conditions, if we or our suppliers negligently perform or arrange the services which we are obliged to provide for you under our contract with you, as set out on your confirmation invoice, we will pay you reasonable compensation. The level of such compensation will be calculated taking into consideration all relevant factors such as but not limited to: following the complaints procedure as described in these conditions and the extent to which ours or our employees’ or suppliers’ negligence affected the overall enjoyment of your holiday. Please note that it is your responsibility to show that we or our supplier(s) have been negligent if you wish to make a claim against us. (2) We will not be responsible or pay you compensation for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, expense, cost or other claim of any description if it results from:(a) the act(s) and/or omission(s) of the person(s) affected; (b) the act(s) and/or omission(s) of a third party unconnected with the provision of the services contracted for and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable; or

(5) Where any payment is made, the person(s) receiving it (and their parent or guardian if under 18 years) must also assign to ourselves or our insurers any rights they may have to pursue any third party and must provide ourselves and our insurers with all assistance we may reasonably require. (6) Please note, we cannot accept any liability for any damage, loss or expense or other sum(s) of any description: (a) which on the basis of the information given to us by you concerning your booking prior to our accepting it, we could not have foreseen you would suffer or incur if we breached our contract with you; or (b) relate to any business. (7) We will not accept responsibility for services or facilities which do not form part of our agreement or where they are not advertised in our brochure. For example any excursion you book whilst away, or any service or facility which your hotel or any other supplier agrees to provide for you. 17. Excursions Booked Locally The Company does not operate its own excursions. Any excursions booked locally at destination do not form part of the package, whether reserved through our local agent or representative. Sunvil acts soley as an agent for any such excursions and takes no responsibility or accepts any liability for their correct performance. Your contract will be with the operator of the excursion or tour and not with us. 18. Complaints All complaints must be made at the time of occurrence to the supplier of the facility or service concerned, to give an opportunity to rectify the cause of the complaint. If unresolved, then you should swiftly call us directly. (If out of UK office hours, then use the relevant emergency mobile numbers supplied in your final travel pack.) Failure to do so will result in your legal rights being reduced or even extinguished. Any claims whatsoever against us must be submitted in writing to us in the UK within 6 months of your return. Disputes arising out of, or in connection with, this contract which cannot be amicably settled, may (if you wish) be referred to AITO’s or ABTA’s independent dispute settlement service. 19. Consumer Protection The air holidays and flights in this brochure are ATOL Protected since we hold an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence granted by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is ATOL 808. We will provide you with the services you have bought (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where we are not able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will be impossible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable). When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday you will receive and ATOL certificate. This certificate alongside your confirmation invoice lists the flight, accommodation, car hire and other services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it. See ww.caa.co.uk/ATOLCertificate. For further information, visit the ATOL website at www.atol.org.uk. All holidays or accommodation only not including air travel are protected by a bond through the Travel Association (ABTA Ltd). 20. Data Protection (a) Please be assured that we have measures in place to protect personal booking Information. This information will only be passed on to the principal and to the relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements. The information may also be provided to public authorities such as customs or immigration if required by them, or as required by law. Certain information may also be passed on to security or credit checking companies.

(3) We limit the amount of compensation we may have to pay you if we are found liable under this clause:

(b) If you travel outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”), controls on data protection may not be as strong as the legal requirements in this country. We will only pass your information onto persons responsible for your travel arrangements. This applies to any sensitive information that you give to us such as details of any disabilities, or dietary/religious requirements. (If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, whether in the EEA or not, we will be unable to provide your booking. In making this booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons.) Full details of our data protection policy are available on request.

(a) loss of and/or damage to any luggage or personal possessions and money, The maximum amount we will have to pay you in respect of these claims is an amount equivalent to the excess on your insurance policy which applies to this type of loss

21. Governing Law and Jurisdiction This contract and any matters arising from it are governed by the law of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

(c) unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond ours or our supplier(s) control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or (d) an event which either ourselves or suppliers could not, even with all due care, have foreseen or forestalled.

Quality Charter AITO is the Association for independent and specialist holiday companies. Our member companies, usually owner-managed, strive to create overseas holidays with high levels of professionalism and a shared concern for quality and personal service. The Association encourages the highest standards in all aspects of tour operating. Exclusive Membership AITO sets criteria regarding ownership, finance and quality which must be satisfied before new companies are admitted to membership. All members are required to adhere to a Code of Business Practice which encourages high operational standards and conduct. Financial Security An AITO member is required to arrange financial protection for all holidays and other arrangements (including accommodation only) booked by customers with the member under the AITO logo. This financial protection applies to customers who are resident in the UK at the time of booking and to most overseas customers who have booked directly with the member. In doing so, the member must comply with UK government regulations. Members are required to submit details of their financial protection arrangements to AITO on a regular basis. Accurate Brochures and Websites All members do their utmost to ensure that all their brochures and other publications, print or electronic, clearly and accurately describe the holidays and services offered. Professional Service and Continual Improvements All members are committed to high standards of service and believe in regular and thorough training of employees. Members continually seek to review and improve their holidays. They listen to their customers and always welcome suggestions for improving standards. Monitoring Standards AITO endeavours to monitor quality standards regularly. All customers should receive a post holiday questionnaire the results of which are scrutinised by the Association. Sustainable Tourism All members acknowledge the importance of AITO’s Sustainable Tourism guidelines, which recognise the social, economic and environmental responsibilities of tour operating. Those demonstrating their achievements beyond the pure acceptance of this principle are recognised by the award of 2 to 5 star status. Customer Relations All members endeavour to deal swiftly and fairly with any issues their customers may raise. In the unlikely event that a dispute between an AITO member and a customer cannot be settled amicably, AITO’s low-cost Independent Dispute Settlement Service may be called upon by either side to bring the matter to a speedy and acceptable conclusion. Sunvil Holidays is proud to be a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators. To contact the Association, visit www.aito.com or call 020 8744 9280.
