The all new Oppy brings leadingedge technology, superb construction quality and contemporary, ‘euro-styling’, to the iconic Aussie brand. Unlike many of our competitors, we don’t cut corners at lower price points and offer our technology story right from the base level (C4) models; so even if your budget isn’t quite ‘Pro-Tour’, your bike will be more than worthy of future upgrades for years to come. Like all models in our new range that wear the Malvern Star name, you can rest assured that the new Oppy carbon bikes are backed up by over 110 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and bringing to you the best value, Aussie-driven products that money can buy. Multiple monocoque construction

All new Oppy carbon bikes utilize a multiple monocoque construction technique. The entire front triangle is laid up in one continuous piece inside the mold then compressed using nylon air bladders inside the frame. The rear end is constructed in 2 separate pieces that are wrapped onto the front triangle resulting in a strong, super light structure with a very high compaction rate.

Highly evolved raw materials

We start with benchmark, T-700 carbon fibre raw material, then blend it with high modulus 24T, or ultra-high mod 30T* fibres at critical areas of the frame for a perfect blend of strength, ride quality and weights as low as 870g** for the Oppy SL or 1050g** for all other models. * Oppy SL only ** Average weight of unpainted Medium sized frame

Full carbon BB86 press fit bottom bracket

The new Oppy BB shell is a massive 86mm wide with full carbon construction for press fit bearings. Because we don’t use an alloy BB shell insert, the entire area is not only lighter and stronger, but far less prone to creaks and groans. The large surface area at the BB allows us to use a larger down tube and chain stays, so that on the road, all your effort goes into powering forward motion with none lost to lateral flex. The oversized bottom bracket combines with our tapered head tube technology, to deliver a bike that corners like it’s on rails!

Tapered headtube and fork

All new Oppy carbon bikes feature a fork/head-tube that tapers from 1 1/8th“ at the top to 1.5” at the bottom. Not only does this beef up this crucial area of the fork, but it also allows a bigger junction on the frame for the top & down tubes to connect to. This results in a front end that is super stiff when you’re out of the saddle that will also steer with razor sharp accuracy when you tip it into turns.

Full internal cable routing

All new Oppy’s feature full internally routed cables for a sleek, windcheating outlook. On models with mechanical components, we use full length gear outer cables for perfect shifting every time and easy maintenance, even by the home mechanic.

Race bred geometry with silky smooth handling All bikes in the Oppy carbon range offer neutral race geometry that has been designed to offer a perfect balance of sharp and responsive handling and cornering, with a stable and silky smooth ride. So whether you’re punching out of corners at your local crit, rolling in the Sunday bunch, or logging 300k’s a week commuting, the new Oppy is your perfect rig.

Full monocoque composite fork

All bikes in the Oppy carbon range feature a monocoquedesign fork with a tapered steerer, weighing a svelte 380g. We don’t cut corners like most of our competitors by using alloy steerer tubes and crowns. So you get a super-light, laterally stiff one piece carbon fork with just the right amount of vertical compliance for a perfect ride.
