Rolleston Combined Probus has had another very busy month in May. Shontal Howard from Selwyn District Council, spoke to them about the recreational needs of seniors and asked the group to give ideas about what else they would like to see available in the community. It was a very informative talk, with some good ideas from members. It is great to see that the Council are looking at what seniors in Selwyn are interested in.

The group's main speaker was Bernadette Devonport , a former history teacher who has written a book on ‘Old Rolleston’. She spoke about a chapter in the book relating to the years between 1990 and 2000. It was a very informative talk, and her wish is that she is able to get this book published even if only online. She is very passionate about the history of Rolleston and doesn’t want it to be lost.
