For places bursting with character there are a variety of historic halls, such as the beautiful Broadfield Community Centre - a category two listed hall built in the 1870s with a kitchen and situated in a reserve with tennis and netball courts. Tucked away on Maddisons Road off from the main route to West Melton, sits the Weedons Community Pavilion. This modern venue can host several small to medium sized sporting events, classes, corporate events, workshops, birthday parties and events. Many users of the pavilion say they love the peaceful park location, with good parking and the glass doors that allow for easy access to the grass area outside. Glentunnel Community Centre is a great space for community functions, school uses and recreational activities such as dance classes. A large outdoor area with an exceptional outlook provides an ideal setting for any occasion. Just down from the famous Springfield donut, the Tawera Memorial Hall is another ideal location for performances, club meetings or community classes. The spaces range from holding 25 people up to 300. For more active spaces, venues such as the Darfield and West Melton Community and Recreation Centres offer a variety of affordable venue spaces for community meetings, concerts and sporting fixtures.
