Welcome to Malvern House Kings Cross This information sheet will provide you with all of the necessary information about your new college. If you have any additional questions, please contact a member of the Reception Team who will be happy to assist you further. Malvern House Kings Cross is located at 200 Pentonville Road N1 9JP (tel. 020 75 20 04 70) which is a 5 minutes walk from Kings Cross Underground station. The following Underground lines all go through Kings Cross Tube Station: Piccadilly

Hammersmith and City

Circle

Overground train services have connections from Kings Cross St Pancras, as does the Eurostar, which leaves from King’s Cross and gets to Paris or Brussels in 2 hours. Buses head in every direction, making Kings Cross an extremely accessible location for Malvern House students.

INFORMATION SHEET Malvern House Kings Cross

Reception opening times and telephone number

The main Reception (located on the first floor) is open from Monday to Friday from 08:00 – 17:00. The telephone number is 0207 520 0470. Here you will be able to receive information about the following: - General enquiries - Changing your timetable - Student Oyster cards - Visa extensions and information

- Welfare - Booking holidays - Accommodation - Arranging an appointment - Requesting letters with the Academic team - Exams (Cambridge exams, IELTS, TOEIC, etc)

Ground Floor Reception The ground floor reception is for general enquiries and also for students to have their Student Cards issued.

Study Centre The Study Centre is open from Monday to Friday at the following times: Monday

08.30 – 17.00

Tuesday to Friday

10.00 – 17.00

Students can study in the Study Centre during opening hours and borrow and purchase textbooks. Students can also loan DVDs, CDs, book trips to London attractions, make photocopies and request their Malvern House certificates. Detailed information for booking Social Programme activities is also easily available.

Internet The Internet area is open from Monday to Friday at the following times: 08.30 – 17.00. There are Internet facilities and also WiFi connections available throughout the centre. It is advisable to book a computer session using the e-reception as this will guarantee you a place at the time of your choice.

Security All students of Malvern House will be required to carry their Malvern House Student Card at all times. You may be asked to present your card by a member of Malvern House staff at any time. Please note that Malvern House cannot accept any responsibility for the security of your personal belongings.

Fire Procedures Instructions and fire extinguishers are on each floor. The fire alarms are tested weekly. Students are expected to observe fire safety rules, including the meeting points and fire exits, which are displayed in each classroom. On discovering a fire, activate the nearest fire alarm and dial 999 to call the Fire Brigade immediately. Damage to any fire equipment will result in expulsion from the college.

First Aid In the event of an accident or if a person becomes seriously ill or injured, please report it to a member of staff immediately or dial 999 to call an ambulance. The First Aid box is located at Reception. For information about the First Aiders and Fire Marshalls as well as fire exit routes, please check the information boards.

Bike storage Students who wish to travel to college by bicycle are able to leave their bike at the bike store which is located at the side of the Nido Building entrance. Students should note that the store is available on a first come first served basis. Malvern House does not accept any responsibility for the loss, damage of theft to articles left at your own risk.
